    Ancheer 20' folding e-bike 36v 8AH or the Oyama CX E8D e-bike Which one should I get?

Don't buy anything until you actually ride it.. I'm guessing you're not going to like either one due to the design.. skinny tires, tiny frame, low power, cheap hardware.

where to buy ebike without pedals?

Yeah you do not want an ebike without pedals, unless you want to have it registered and obtain insurance for it.. It's called an electric scooter.

Touring on a Stromer: long distance riding

Sounds like a lot of fun Joe! I will say that 130 miles a day on any bicycle is very fatiguing and I'm not sure how much enjoyment you will get.. It will feel like a marathon that just doesn't end! You may want to cut the average down to 100 miles a day. I've ridden my Stromer 45 miles a day...

    Drowning In Reviews/Data

Hey it 's great you have some flexibility on your budget.. If I were you, and I was SURE I wanted to ride an ebike every week, I'd go straight to the Haibike 2017 Full Seven S 7.0.. It weighs around 45 lbs, will do 28 mph, great range, FS, Bosch mid drive and is a 1x10 Mountain bike config.. All...

    Locking method for ebike commuters

You should look at the bicycles that are left at the rack where you want to lock up your bike. If they look old and ratty, it's probably not a place for your new steed.. Even worse, if there arent any bike left there, it tells you it's not safe.

Can an Electric Bike "Replace" A Car?

Most places in the United States are not safe for daily bike commuting. However, if you locate to an area where you can travel to your work and shopping on a protected path for most of the trip, and the weather isn't too extreme, you can definitely give a serious try. Ebikes need minimal...

I hate wearing a helmet on ebikes and I found articles online saying helmets do more harm?

Ditto to all the Helmet supporters.. I own a $200 Giro and the reason why it's worth it is simple.. It fits my head perfectly, it doesn't move and it doesn't make any noise.. I forget I'm wearing it. Seen enough low speed crashes where men and women bounce their head on the pavement.. There is...

How much assist am I getting in mph?

Having done 25 mph on my Stromer and 25 mph on my single speed pedal bike, there is a huge difference in effort... However, a lot more power is needed on that eBike because of the higher rolling resistance of the tires (l.p. 1.75" w tires vs 23 mm, h.p. race tires), and much higher rotational...

What lock do you use to protect your ebike?

Locks are a very personal and local need.. I've used the same U Lock since 1993 not a problem.. IF I was parking in a city I'd be very worried about having only one lock. If it were me I'd have at least 2 U lOcks and one heavy chain.. That will slow people down a little bit.

    Batteries wear out.

WEll that's a pretty nice size batteries.. It really depends on how much load you put on those batteries every time you went out.. If your controller wasdrawing 2C or 3C, around 1 to 1`.5 kW, its discharge rate will definitely degrade capacity quickly.

Very beginner advice for hills, such as getting started on one.

Good for you getting out there and crashing! Now you're one of us..lol IF you are not comfortable standing on the pedal to get going, then stop your bike on a diagonal or even normal to the hill. Don't think it's a good idea to throttle up with your little motor, and probably small controlled...

    Question about Battery indicator

There is far too much worry about partial charge vs full charge cycles. 1. Batteries degrade about 5-10% PER YEAR just from aging, based on my experience since 2009 with two different ebikes.. IF you keep it stored in a cool area you might do better. 2. I've fully cvharged both battery packs...

    Battery life in hot climates

At 8 miles a day you should have that battery a long time! If I were you I'd contact Ampler and ask them how you would get a replacement battery pack in a few years, if they are no longer in business.

Help chose Ebike full suspension 29" Bosch motor

I've test ridden a number of haibikes with both Yamaha and Bosch.. The Bosch is a much more enjoyable ride, even thought the specs on the Yamaha look better on paper.. Experience is the true test. The one I liked the best was the 2017 Full Seven S 7.0 .. 28 mph top very smooth and weighs less...

    Question about Battery indicator

Those battery indicators are not very accurate, since they are affected by load.. Under throttle and going up a hill, there is a voltage drop ("sag") from the load that instantaneously lowers the battery indicator level. White still not very accurate, the best way to use the gage is to remove...

Chinese company, not US. Does that even matter? Transparency does.

Did you buy this FLX eBike on Indigogo? Cause it says they are from Shanghai China... There is nothing on their webpage that says where they are from, if there is a USA office, and their warranty page is very uninformative about where you ship the bike for warranty work. At this point of time...

    Battery life in hot climates

Agreed.. Buy a quality bike and drive system and you can enjoy your ebike for many years. The worst thing you can do is replace your bike every couple of years, since depreciation is about 50% in 2 years. As far as partial charge or full charge life cycles, don't worry about it.. If you need...

My autistic brother is getting an Electric Bike for his birthday! but help!

You sound like a very nice brother and generous. I don't think you want to suprise your brother with this.....special needs or not. Does he currently ride a bicycle on a regular basis? Cause if he doesn't he's going to be overwhelmed by a really fast bicycle. eBikes definitely need more care...

    Battery life in hot climates

Have fun dude! I live in Miami and store my ebike and battery in the garage, where is it normally 80-90s.. The battery degrades about 10% a year... I think if it were stored inside the battery might have held up better. And the usual advice also appliies, i.e. do not charge the battery more...
