    Lectric XP

I was capturing some footage from an XP ride in the mountains with fall colors last week, for an upcoming review I'm working on, but just put some clips to music for fun. In case some here are stuck inside with the weather and can't ride for now ;-) It's a little longer than I was hoping, but...

Lectric XP Ride and Range Reports

My speedometer measures fairly accurate vs GPS with the factory settings (wheel size 20). The odometer was reading 14% below actual distance in my 5 mile test.

    Lectric XP

I'll be interested to see how they do. I only got 25mi. range on my XP, using PA 2-3, which was disappointing, but may be closer to 30mi, when corrected for the 14% odometer error I measured with my GPS. My speedometer is pretty accurate, and I got one of the early shipments.

    Lectric XP

The specs on that Rattan look very good! Wonder if they can really get so much range from that battery?

Lectric XP Ride and Range Reports

I just reached 100 miles total on my XP, and did my first battery range test. In mild to moderately hilly terrain with 190# rider and 5# of tools in the panniers, and giving moderate to heavy pedaling effort in PAS 2-3, I only got 25 miles on a charge (by the odometer, so may be more in real...

    Hand signals for turning

The very steep/vertical head tube angle, combined with the small wheel size, leads to fairly 'squirrely' steering, compared to most other styles of bike. I'm getting more used to it.

Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I have gotten a 11-28T cluster to put on the freewheel, so that I can get decent resistance and a cadence of below 100RPM while cruising at around 22-24 MPH, but haven't put it on yet. It seems that the rear wheel is very tough to get back on once removed, and may need the help of a 2nd person...

Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I have the same issue. My power bars can fluctuate by as much as 6 bars while riding, depending on the PAS mode, and whether I'm peddling up a hill, on the flat, or downhill. I was down to 3 bars yesterday on my way home from work, with basically a full battery, but when I stopped at an...

What do people do about tire punctures?

Very interesting. Doesn't appear that they make a 20" fat tire version for the XP, though?

What do people do about tire punctures?

Thanks for the reply. I've done it many times on my road and mountain bikes, but was just a bit confused as to what to do with the electric motor cable. I now see the disconnect port, and realize that the end of that cable stays attached and goes through the axle.

Thanks, I'll go search for those :)

Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I did only give a moderate tug with the wrench to check them, and not really torque on it, so I guess it's possible, but the fact that the pedals felt 'un-level' from the very first few seconds on the bike makes me still think that it was an installation error.

Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

The pedals had been checked for tightness with the wrench on arrival, but I had not noticed that they were cross threaded at the factory, and were not in straight.

Known Issues & Problems with Lectric eBikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I just got my XP a couple of days ago. On my first short ride, the pedals felt 'off', as if they were not totally level, but I attributed that to my being used to riding clips, and not flat pedals, on my mountain bike. On my 2nd ride, after a total of 6 miles on the bike, both pedals came...

What do people do about tire punctures?

Just got my first eBike, with the XP. As a long-time rider, I can't imagine going out on a long ride without the ability to handle a punctured tire. I will often be riding in remote areas without cellular service, so could get stranded with no way to get to a town, if the bike breaks down. I...
