Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

@GuruUno: If their sale is still on, you can order a Kinekt seatpost with 25% off from Selle Anatomica. Their saddles were on sale too. I ordered both an H2 saddle and Kinekt suspension seatpost for my Vado 4.0 then separately ordered just the Kinekt suspension seatpost for my wife’s Vado 5.0...

    Which Turbo Vado?

Thanks. Just wondering, Sounds good. I don’t have any issues with the power. We have a lot of hills where we ride. Rode the paved portions of the El Dorado trail near Placerville, CA last weekend. An 11.5 mile out and 11.5 mile back. About 8 miles uphill (3% to 6% grades) going out to the east...

    Which Turbo Vado?

Thanks Stephan and TS25: A lot to digest here. Glad to confirm the 2020 Vado 4.0 has the Stronger 1.2 motor, not the 1.2e. If the motor hardware is the same, wonder if my 1.2 motor could be reprogrammed to the higher 85nm of the 1.2S? I’d consider getting a 604 watt battery if the torque could...

    Which Turbo Vado?

Hi Stephan: Does the US version of the 2020 Vado 4.0 have the 1.2 motor or the 1.2e motor? Court’s specs on the U.S. 2020 vado 4.0 EBR review shows: MOTOR BRAND: Brose T, (Specialized Turbo 1.2), 120 RPM Max Support MOTOR TYPE: Mid-Mounted Geared Motor Learn more about Ebike motors MOTOR...

    Vado headlight flashing

@rochrunner: My 2020 Vado 4.0 does the same thing, after pushing the power on button, headlight flashes quickly 2 or 3 times, then comes on solid a few of seconds later. My wife's 2020 Vado 5.0 just comes on solid a few seconds after pushing the power button. Not sure why the difference, but...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

@Hextall: Nice color. Almost looks like the British Racing Green that came on my 1973 Raleigh Super Course back in the day!

    Which Turbo Vado?

@Stephan Mikes: Yes, the range is probably not affected much if you ran the same test riding the 1.2 motor or the 1.3 motor at the same speed, same conditions, the motor efficiency is probably very similar? Maybe would take slightly more human effort on the 1.2 (at least that's what I tell my...

    Which Turbo Vado?

Thanks Stephan, Happy Birthday. Great test and great information. Must have been a pleasurable ride in Turbo mode? Does your Vado have the 1.3 or the 1.2 motor? Wonder if that might affect the outcome slightly?

Incident with a New Vado 4.0 - LBS & Warranty Question

@Gufazi: I’ve had the front fenders on both my 2020 Vado 4.0 and my wife's 2020 Vado 5.0 start rubbing the front tire when bumped slightly. The lower mountings that attach to the fork were loose on both bikes, so I aligned the fenders and tightened them. Just wondering if this may have been...

    Which Turbo Vado?

@BarryS: In April, 2020 Specialized put the Vado 4.0’s on sale, ~$500 cash discount and an additional ~$500 on a prepaid Visa card, all total about $1,060 off of the then $3,550 retail price, so net price was ~$2,490. The 5.0’s were not on sale at the time, so it was $5,150 (for the 5.0) or...

My experience with my new Vado 4.0 (2020)

@Sierratim: Thank you for this information. I ordered two of the Robert Axle Project thru axles and two Burley steel hitches to connect a Burley D"lite trailer to my wife's Vado 5.0 or to my Vado 4.0. I like the way the Robert Axle Project website confirms the ebike and the type of trailer...

    Which Turbo Vado?

My wife has the 2020 Turbo Vado 5.0 with the TCD-W display, 600W battery, the 1.3 motor and XT/SLX components, purchased In June of 2020 after the Specialized price change From $5,150 to $4,350. My experience with my new Vado 4.0 (2020)

@Sierratim: Thanks for the direction on the through axle replacements for the Burley hitch. We have Burley hitches on the Trek SC +7 and the Electra TC 8i but would like to pull my grandkids behind the Vado’s as well. Pulling the trailers up hills with ebikes is a breeze, much more stable too...

My experience with my new Vado 4.0 (2020)

Hi Stephan. I actually have the high step Vado and do use a Specialized side access bottle cage. We have the same side access bottle cage on my wife’s mid step Vado and although it is a bit more cumbersome, it still works well.

My experience with my new Vado 4.0 (2020)

Not to mention 600 watts, 90 nm’s, XT brakes and derailleur is a big step up on the 5.0. Glad she has 90 nm for the 12 pitch hill we have returning home from the bike trail

My experience with my new Vado 4.0 (2020)

Glad to hear more ebike riders are enjoying the American River Bike Trail. When I first started riding an ebike on the ARB Trail I got a lot of sneers and rude comments from haters, but that is lessening with time. I think if you ride at a reasonable speed, watching out for pedestrians...

My experience with my new Vado 4.0 (2020)

Thanks. The Kinekt seatpost and Selle Anatomica H2 saddle were the best additions. I added those grippy “red” Nukeproof Sam Hill pedals (although they do look pink in the photo). Spent a lot of the Vado 4.0 discount savings on the upgrades...
