Magnum 2019 vs 2018 Premium bike

We have 2 of these bikes, they are 14 mos. old now. We have over 1000 mi on the hi-step version, and approx 900 mi. on the lo-step. (We have 2 other bikes each, that we also ride (not electric) so the miles we ride gets split across 3 bikes per person) These are well made bikes, with few...

Why aren't there CHEAP & RELIABLE e-bikes in North America?

Americans aren’t predisposed to “do more with less” as many other nationalities do. That said, “small”, “micro” and “right sized” aren’t actually features we find compelling, like many other cultures do. We are a country built on a “the more, the merrier” attitude. Especially when it comes to...

    Magnum Premium Folding Bike 500w

Update....6 months in at 500+ miles. We’ve surpassed 500 on both of our Magnum Premium 48’s. Relatively trouble free, the Low-Step bike developed a noise in the 8Fun hubmotor which I was convinced was the sound of impending doom. Dealer agreed and replaced without drama. The main niggle has...

Known Issues & Problems with Addmotor Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Im a totally disinterested third party, as I dont own an Addmotor product, but from the outside looking in the responses made here on this forum to complaints about Addmotor product support are a nice “publicity face” made to look like they are being responsive but the real litmus-test warranty...

Pedego disservice to the ebike community?

What they should’ve portrayed is a helmetless Pedego rider rooster tail blasting dirt into the faces of some traditional bicyclists (small children with elderly grandparents preferably) while giving them the “bird” as they pass by the traditional riders at 3x their speed. ^I’m just kidding...

Check out the Cool new Piaggio Line of Ebikes called Wi BIke

Maybe, but then I dont live in Europe, or even a densely populated US city, so that level of performance isn’t relevant to my situation. Here in the wide open west where I DO live, it’s too much, for too little. I suspect in that Im not alone, but in Rome or Amsterdam it would be a more popualr...

Check out the Cool new Piaggio Line of Ebikes called Wi BIke

36 volts and 250 watts @$4000 msrp? Hardly a compelling package. Yes it’s Italian, and Yes it’s gorgeous, but it’s still overpriced and underpowered IMO.

    Ebike market crowded....shakeout imminent?

I dont see prices coming DOWN in order to drive sales UP when traditional bikes (decent + ones anyway) creep up year after year in the bike biz and it easy to spend as much and more for a good traditional bicycle as any good to excellent ebike. More cheap product = more cheap product. Now...

    Ebike market crowded....shakeout imminent?

His Priceline gig must not keep him busy enough! Seriously, Pedego is a sea of calm in somwhat frenetic ebike market IMO, slowly, quietly securing their share of the business with high quality products very effectively marketed AND supported.

I know, right? Well, we ARE the fast food capital of the world here in So-Cal, but admittedly most fast food isn’t so fast anymore cars long. Then there’s the Starbucks drive thru....

    Ebike market crowded....shakeout imminent?

Indeed. Piaggio and Yamaha are actively entering the market, possibly bringing along some additional “cred” to the whole ebike thing (Yamaha more so for a more broadly recognized name here) Unfortunately, in the US anyway, even motorcycle sales are super sluggish...since most Americans...

    Ebike market crowded....shakeout imminent?

Agree as well. The other influencing factor, at least in in the US, is bridging the gap (interest-wise) between the avid cyclists, many of whom would never even consider an electrically assisted bike, and those who dont ride at all, and probably never will. Need a major market in the middle...

    Ebike market crowded....shakeout imminent?

Well, there are still things like warranty support costs, PLI, taxes and....salaries to factor in regardless of the threshold of entry into an industry may (or may not) be. Those entrepreneurs have some kind of overhead to deal with each month in business, and of course have to make a living do...
