Adjusting the disk brake pads on a hub motor bike.

Charly, took a scrap of aluminum 1/8" x 3/4" x 8" long, drilled a 3/16" hole in it, countersunk it slightly, sawed off a 3/16" length of (old, cheap, therefore soft) hex wrench. Then I used a vise to push the newly cut (therefore sharp) hex right through the 3/16" hole, it sticks real good...

Adjusting the disk brake pads on a hub motor bike.

I'm finding it a bit of a challenge adjusting the pad clearance. The caliper is a Shimano M375 on a Dash E3. The deal is, the caliper is 'adjusted' by setting the caliper body such that the outboard pad is pretty close to the rotor and then using a 5mm hex wrench to adjust the inboard pad to...

Electrical Wiring Information for Adding Lights to IZIP Dash

They were fast to send me this so probably they will disclose more. I am interested because one of the molex connectors is weak (white wire in the 6-pin Molex) and I would like to find out what that does.

Charly, I posted some files in the IZIP section you will find helpful in tracing the wiring for the Dash.

Electrical Wiring Information for Adding Lights to IZIP Dash

I am uploading wiring information I that I received from IZIP when I started looking for the headlight wiring on my E3 Dash which is supposed to be located behind the rubber plug below the handlebar stem. It turns out my wiring isn't there, not sure still where it is. However this information...

    Organizing this forum.

The Dash seems to be a very popular bike with an active group of helpful owners. This is good. However the helpful posts are all over the site, for example in the accessories thread and the maintenance thread. Court, should we consider creating a sub-heading under IZIP just for Dash and...

Is that for real? Because that is a hell of a bike for $1550.00!

    In the beginning, and desire...

Because the way the bike came to me the brake lever housing, the trigger shifter, and the throttle meshed together in a clumsy way and prevented me from rotating the brake lever to a more comfortable position. What I want is for the brake lever to be in line with my extended arm, but the brake...

Please keep in touch if you install that 9 tooth gear (cog). This bike needs that gear.

    In the beginning, and desire...

RE your question about shutdown, I don't think turning the display off shuts down the battery like pressing the battery button for ~4 seconds does, but just park the bike and it will turn itself off pretty quick. The throttle cable does get in the way of rotating the brake, so does the...

Question regarding Topeak rack for new E3 Dash

Chris, have you looked at This Thread for more information about those racks? And for installing it with fenders there is other information, pretty easy installs. The Topeak expanding bags are nice as they can be big or small as needed.

    Turbo Brake Squeal

I had that problem and it was so bad the bike was not rideable. I cleaned the rotors with a strong solvent and it no longer squeals at all. Someone told me later that oil from just touching the rotor will cause the issue but I don't know. Please report if this works for you.

Body Float Suspension Seat Post Thoughts

I just saw the cost, $415. I'm not that motivated and will settle for 2nd best. I do admire the trailing-link suspension concept having owned a couple on my 1958 and 1968 BMW R60/2's and more recent experience with the PZL-104 Wilga light aircraft. Very interesting concept; when the tire hits...

Body Float Suspension Seat Post Thoughts

clearly we need a comparison review between thud buster, the Sun Tour device, and this one. I will buy the winner. As will so many others. Charlie/Patrick, if you really believe in this Body Float you'll buy the TB, the ST, and send them to Court with one of your Body Floats for a shoot-out...

    Not 'the best' light, but...

Just an opinion, for me brighter isn't always better. Because I won't be trail riding I went with the $46 Cygolite Metro 360 and it is way bright enough for me and I don't really like a remote battery pack. But, that light is going to look very cool on your Dash.

New "Flat-Less" Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tyres for 2014

Hey Charly, all us Dash riders appreciate your assistance and information. Court, the value of this site is so high, thanks once again for maintaining it. Question, are concerned that the Schraeders may not fit through the valve holes in the rim?
