2017 URBAN another home run for OHM Electric Bikes!

Not sure Ian, you'd have to try and see if they fit. I've not see any commuter style bike with any air deflector and not sure if the geometry of the bike will fit this but worth a try for this length of ride....

2017 URBAN another home run for OHM Electric Bikes!

That was combined on the old and new (over a period of 3 years). My commute is ~ 40+ km a day and weekends I'd put on another 120+ with a volunteer activity, shopping and pleasure, so was averaging just over 330+ a week so it didn't really take much to get there, and all in all enjoyed every...

2017 URBAN another home run for OHM Electric Bikes!

Only addition was the bag on the back and a pump, nothing else needed. Here's the new bike with my 40,000 km "certificate" from last year. Still going strong.

    Range at 28 mph

Understood Jeff. I'm simply stating what my performance (typical) is, if the user wishes to convert or not that is up to them. No need to state the obvious.

"Around the World" in 3 years

Ok that's just as the crow flies but still a milestone. I passed the 40,000 km mark a couple of weeks ago, thankfully before the snow and ice arrived which has lessened the riding days. I couldn't not ride to work this morning, it was raining but was 3 above (C) so just a regular commute...

    Range at 28 mph

550 Wh standard battery. Typically I get 70-80 km in town averaging 22-23 km but on trips range and average km generally increase unless of course I get a headwind.

Almost around the world (38,500 km) and still going

Another month or so and I'll have done the equivalent of the circumference of the Earth in just about bang on 3 years on my Ohm(s). I say (s) as I did upgrade to the 2017 model this spring. I would have got there a bit faster but had a wee fight with a curb and sidewalk a couple of months...

    Range at 28 mph

The range you will get at 28 Km per hour depends on the terrain as well as the wind resistance and direction. I've averaged rides at 23-25 km per hour with over 100 km distance. In the end the variables are considerable. Ya might consider another mode of travel if you need to get there that...

2017 URBAN another home run for OHM Electric Bikes!

I looked at them but the one size for the model I was looking at wouldn't work for someone 6'4" for a commuter bike so passed on trying one. I did have two geared hub based bikes prior to going Ohm. Stripped the gears on one after 10,000 Kms, and had to really watch and tweak the spokes on...

    Which ebike for me?

Shaun, See if you can find an Ohm dealer and try one out. I've sure been happy with mine after 2 other manufacturers that I was not happy with.

Choosing a well rounded first ebike

I wouldn't go for it unless you are a very casual rider and don't mind throwing you money away. If you can not depend on the dealer you purchase from don't buy it no matter how much you "save".

Help selecting an Ebike for commuting

I would recommend the Ohm Xu700. I've been commuting on Ohm's XU700 for more than two and a half years now with almost 36,000 kms on 2 bikes. Why 2 bikes, -I recently upgraded to the latest 2017 model after 32,500 kms on the 2014 model. I 'm 6' 4" and my Ohm with a 22.5 " frame and the Bionx...

Bike impossible to ride due to resistence

Agree with BobG. the derailer is hitting the spokes, surprised that you can't see the wear on the spokes.

Disappointing Service from BionX and it's 48V Battery

I clocked 32,500 km on one battery in 28 months, and it was still operating at I would estimate >80% of original capacity, and have had fantastic service from Bionx and their both of the dealers I have worked with. I would and have gone back to them with an upgrade to a 2017 model

    Obsolete

It's ok. But I get most of my relevant information on the RC3 in the technical screen.

2017 URBAN another home run for OHM Electric Bikes!

After just over 28 months and 32,000 kms on my 2014 Urban, I traded up to the 2017 model. I don't normally get into trading up a perfectly good ride for "something new", but this time I did spoil myself and took the leap. What A treat! It's not possible in my mind how anyone could improve...

Launch of the 2017 North American e-bike survey!

Thanks Dewey. I will leave further "spread" of this e-bike only survey to the folks at PSU. Adding to this forum should get things out a bit more.

Launch of the 2017 North American e-bike survey!

Portland State University is excited to partner with PeopleForBikes and the Bicycle Product Suppliers Association (BPSA) to conduct a survey of e-bike users in North America. The survey looks to understand why people purchased their e-bike and how they use them in their lives. Additionally, we...

    32,000 km and still going!

I decided to update every 2,000 km as another 1,000 every 3 weeks or so. Spring has sprung out here in the West, a wet one this year but no longer white and slushy. Looking to hit the "round the world" distance of 40,000 by the mid to end of the summer. That will be about 30 months from date...

    30,000 km in 27 months

Just passed the 30,000 km on the weekend! Another 10,000 and that'll be around the world, should make that by late summer early fall. With the winter and the icy roads we've had this season commuting has been a real challenge to say the least, but the temperatures are coming back up to...
