I think their main issue is they have a new different new;y updated model with each generation and not enough marketing help to document it properly. Damn, wish the 750w was available when I bought mine! Still happy with the 500w tho - it's plenty peppy enough for me.

There should be a plastic sleeve insert to tighten the fit. Mine actually came with two of them.

Interesting - really similar frame for sure with a couple pluses and minuses - love they have the 750W motor, but no regen feature. Looks like they also limited top speed to 20 for greater sales appeal in limiting locations. Battery looks like another possible option for the X7 too.
