First picture posted is the one I have with the first generation of X7+ - it has the 5 bar. I was told it doesn have cruise control. Hoping for the 10 bar + remote + cruise control which is being sent my way.

They are supposed to send me the newer controller with cruise control, so it looks like it's this totally different controller and not programming or similar. Hope I get this with the remote too!

You'll need a phillips head screw driver for the fenders (and if I remember right, the rack) and they send two sizes of allen wrench for main assembly. IF you want to adjust anything on the handlebars, you will need smaller sized allen wrenches.

I actually had a bike mechanic change the tires on mine and he said nothing about any problems like that. I also removed the rear nut to install a trailer hitch and it went fine with mine. He also had to mess with the derailleur to get it to work right. We did have an issue with the fender...

It does, but right near the light. Might be a longish run to the rear, but your idea would be the least intrusive mod. Haven't dug in to noticing but maybe another plug connection somewhere.

Yeah, the rack is a little weird. But, you can in fact slide the cushion part right off of it with a quick release mount thing and then customize it for a basket or something else. Rack is fairly strong for how it looks though. But I wouldnt trust my own weight on it.
