The bike itself is out of Warranty. It's possible the motor is warrantied by BAFANG but I'm unable to contact them directly. I'll give LunaCycle a try, thanks for the info.

Voltbikes site shows it as a BAFANG mm G330.250. The image they show does look like the unit in my bike.

I haven't yet. I was hoping people may have heard of this issue before I tried to explain it to them over the phone. I've had to contact them before for other repairs and issues.

The behavior of the bike is definitely in the mid drive motor, rather than any of the gearing in the back. The motor is taking or releasing the pedals without reacting to the sensor. It's a mid drive, so the motor is between the pedals, rather than in the back of the bike.
