Looks like it maybe a winner, especially for those that like advanced electronic features. For me, I prefer to keep things simple with regards to electronics, especially on a eMTB. Less stuff to potentially break down. That is why I am attracted to Bulls Brose design approach. Happy Trails!

That is some impressive long distance street climbing on an eMTB. It would be a good work out for an above average fit person in your age range. Were you in the highest assist level most of the time? What bike did you ride on this test trial?

Oh, thanks ... so it's a new model of the BH Atom eMTB series. What's up with the top tube? ... I wonder if they redesigned the entire frame including the integration of the battery in the bottom tube. Very interesting ....

Based on my short test drive of that bike ... I would guess I was putting in about a third less effort compared to a 30 lb regular hybrid bike I ride that is to maintain 25 mph .. forget maintaining 28 mph for very long in my shape except for relatively short distances.

FYI .... Contacted Bikespeed concerning motor firmware updates. They replied that should not be problem but no guarantee which is what I expected. They recommended putting RS in service mode (deactivate) before dealer does firmware update.

My understanding is Bosch will be updating their firmware in July. Does anyone know if the RS will still work properly after the update is installed? On their web site they offer different versions based on the year and firmware of the various motors ....does that mean any new updates will...

Ravi - Thanks for the above explanation. I have another related question that I hope you may be able to shed some light on. Bulls in the US specs their Brose s-pedelecs at 350W (28 mph bikes) while the same bikes with the same motor are rated at 250W in their european specs. I supppose that...

Mark - did you find out yet what the problem is with the motor? I doubt it had anything to do with the update ...but what do I know. I have read in earlier models that some have had motor noise issues ...worth checking out while still under warranty. Good luck.

Ravi - To the best of your knowledge does this update actually increase the available power or just redistributes the power among the four levels of assist? Just curious if the fourth level is an actual boost compared to previous performance, that is it doesn't incrementally cut back on power...

Exactly ..."assist you want" ...everyone's needs and wants are different. After all, I am sure that is why Bulls offers motor choices (including new "powerful" shimano e8000 in Europe and soon in USA). They could however be more clear on their advertzing on which bike/motor may best suit...

RoadWrinkle - I am quickly realizing that there is no perfect mid-drive system and each has their own specific tradeoffs. Selecting one that best suits the users needs is important. Your comment about the belt driven motor on the Brose and how it may limit the spec 90N torque (power)...

fxr3: With regards to the standover height for your large Evo 45. You mention that with shoes you are approximately 32" inseam but on the Bulls web site and according to Courts measurement on his review ... the standover height for the 49 cm frame is 33". Do you know where that is measured...
