    Stromer ST2 Pulsing (Please vote)

I've also experienced what I believe is a thermal protection power cut-off. In short: hot day, long steep climb. After the climb, power was intermittently provided until after I took action to reduce heat in the motor. I.e. dropping to power level 1, and taking it easy for a mile or so.

    Stromer ST2 Pulsing (Please vote)

I don't think there is any kind of cover-up. This thread has described a bunch of different observations all loosely linked to the overall pulsing sensation. If there is a real problem, denial may be a more appropriate description than cover-up. Power level 3 long duration pulsing is normal. It...

    Stromer ST2 Pulsing (Please vote)

In power level 1, the speed cutoff on the ST2 is roughly 20mph. When biking in power level 1, I frequently travel near the speed cutoff, and it is definitely noticeable. This isn't a defect, just normal operation of the bike when pedaling aggressively for fitness purposes and hitting the speed...

    Stromer ST2 Pulsing (Please vote)

Has anyone tried changing the torque sensor sensitivity in the main menu? It sounds like increasing the sensitivity could alleviate the power stuttering, but it's not entirely clear what this feature does. It almost sounds like it does the same thing as adjusting the torque in the tuning feature.

    st2 clicking

When my bike arrived, the front derailleur cable extended past the clamping screw so that it touched the right crank arm every time it passed through the top of its rotation. In my case, I wrapped the cable around the clamping screw so that it would not touch the crank arm.

What kind of headlight do you use (or recommend)?

I've been looking at the Orfos Flare. They illuminate a sphere of light on the ground around the bike for maximum visibility: http://www.amazon.com/Orfos-Flare-Degree-Headlight-Light/dp/B00SIN4D3G Another good choice would be the Cyclic Fly6 & Fly12, which include built-in cameras...

    Stromer ST2 Pulsing (Please vote)

I have experienced the same power pulsing/stuttering after a long ride, or after going up a long steep hill. Until now, I had assumed it was a thermal cut-off meant to prevent excessive heat build-up in the motor. In my case, I had noticed the power cut-off while applying torque via the...

    Thinner Tires on ST1

Balloon tires actually have a lower rolling resistance than skinnier tires too. The Big Bens have the lowest rolling resistance of all of their e-bike tires. http://www.schwalbe.com/en/balloonbike.html

    Thinner Tires on ST1

Although I haven't changed the type of tires on my bike, I've looked into changing them to the 1.75" Marathon Plus. They are a thinner tire with superior puncture protection, however you'll find the ride to be more stiff and bumpy.

Mounting LoudBicycle.com Car Horn on ST2

Yeah, I would definitely not encourage using this on a bike path, near pedestrians or even on the road as a result of road rage. The main purpose is just to prevent an imminent, yet preventable, collision between a vehicle and a bike. I always ride courteously in traffic, so as to not...

No, I just don't want to die.

Mounting LoudBicycle.com Car Horn on ST2

It would depend on how the horn is used. If it is only used for emergencies to help prevent a collision between a 3500lb car and a 250lb bike (i.e. driver pulling out without seeing you), then I see it as perfectly acceptable. If you're going to honk it unnecessarily as a result of road rage...

The AirZound looks promising too, just don't want to lose the water bottle holder for it.

Mounting LoudBicycle.com Car Horn on ST2

I've looked at those as well, they are just loud for the sake of being loud. I don't think a car driver will instinctively know what to do when hearing that sound for the first time. Hearing a car horn has a trained response, which can make a difference when in counts.

    BMC and Stromer...

From this article, it's not clear that Stromer has yet been sold. It sounds like that the news reported by this article is that in addition to attempting to find a buyer for Stromer, BMC has also decided to, and has completed, the sale of Bergamont.

    Aloha, new Stromer Guy!

My Stromer and I will be moving to the Aloha state in January. Can you recommend any bike-friendly communities to find a place to live?

Mounting LoudBicycle.com Car Horn on ST2

I've been looking at this car-like bicycle horn: http://www.loudbicycle.com/ From what I can tell, the horn cannot be mounted on the top or down tubes due to the battery and touch screen. Additionally, the rectangular stem is too large as well. The company (Loud Bicycle) has suggested...

    St2 battery charger

There is a label on the bottom side of the power supply that has a chart to indicate the meanings of the charging lights. I haven't had an ST1 power supply to compare with, but a fan will turn on when it is charging quickly.

    Exploding Rear Tires?

The only place that I have seen, that presumably ships the Stromer custom version of the tire is: http://www.elektrofahrrad24.de/spezial-ersatzteile-stromer#.VYtCAXpViko To purchase locally, your local Stromer dealer should be able to order replacement parts, if asked.

    Exploding Rear Tires?

I've received the replacement tire from Stromer, and decided to check to see if both wheels have been trued and dished properly. I knew that the front wheel wasn't quite true, as I could see it wobble back and forth while riding the bike, and suspected that if the rear wheel wasn't true, it...
