    Racktime bags

One note about both of my Racktime bags (DoubleIt XL & Black Box Rack Top Bag) is that they both obscure the view of the rear light. I've found a bright, omni-directional light that can easily be attached to the loops on the back of both bags: the Niteflux RedZone light. It is a bright light...

    Racktime bags

The bike actually rides really nice with the extra weight. It just takes more time to accelerate to a given speed, after that the bike just cruises. The extra weight gives the sensation of less rolling resistance, but its really just the result of having more mass: slower acceleration & slower...

    Racktime Snapit on Stromer ST1?

There is an thread on Racktime bags over in the Stromer forum.

Using the manual regenerative braking feature

Following this same logic, I've increased the setting for regeneration while braking to the maximum setting. I.e. Why not recover as much energy as possible during braking while minimizing the wear and tear on the braking system? However, I am now noticing some creaking when transitioning from...

    Racktime bags

I went for a 50 mile test ride with the pannier loaded with about 30 lbs of gear this week, and it held up well. I installed internal-star lock washers on the rack's height adjustment screws, near the rear hub, to make sure the rack would not slide down when riding over large bumps while loaded...

    Alt Water Bottle Holder

I've read reviews on Amazon saying that people have had water bottles fly out of this cage, but I have not had this problem. I've been using Camelbak Podium bottles and they are very snugly held in place. They are not going anywhere, and require a good firm pull to remove the bottle from the...

    Perspective on the ST2

How do you find the quality of the holder? I've read many 1-star reviews on Amazon saying that it breaks easily after normal use and the bottle can fly off onto the road. I must say that it looks nice, but I'm a little dissuaded from buying it after reading the reviews.

    Perspective on the ST2

Can I ask what bottle holder you bought? I have the Klean Kanteen in white. Did you know that you could buy a spout top for it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0083F0JKA

    Issue or User Error

I primarily use on-bike charging, with the bike turned off. The one time I tried to power-on the bike during the charge I had some type unusual behavior. It's been a while since that happened, so I can't remember the details.

    Racktime bags

I just received another Racktime bag that I'll be using for an upcoming multi-day tour of the Olympic Discovery Trail. It's the Racktime DoubleIt XL pannier. I did have one rather major problem with this bag in that the rails on the SnapIt adapter did not rotate inward to fit the Stromer...

Video - 310 mile ride on Stromer ST2

Thanks, Ravi. I'm planning to split the trip up across several days, with the longest day at 115 miles. There's lots to see on the trail so I will probably take my time to stop in some areas. On top of that, I'm not an early morning person! I've been able to get about 100 miles per charge...

Video - 310 mile ride on Stromer ST2

I'm currently planning a trip for the Olympic Discovery Trail, and am currently trying to plan my charging stops. How did you approach your planning for this? Did you just stop at a restaurant, bring your battery in and ask to charge? Did you try to plan in advance to find buildings with...

    Bicycle Camera Setup

I've also tried the Cyclic Fly6, its a really nice and well-built light/camera combo however the quality of the camera imagery (lens/sensor combo) doesn't live up to the Virb.

    Bicycle Camera Setup

The Virb desktop video editor allows overlaying all kinds of data, just as long as you have the sensors. I.e. cadence, power, elevation, etc. My setup uses the basic Virb camera, however the Virb Elite includes an integrated GPS receiver to store the speed & elevation information alongside the...

    Copenhagen Wheel Thoughts

I just noticed what appears to be a rather sarcastic and juvenile response by Superpedestrian on their Twitter account. They must really dislike potential customers that have decided not to buy their wheel.

    Clip-ins

Thanks! I think I have some black & white touch-up paint in the box that came with the bike. The bike is going to get nicked up a bit. Most of it came when I had resting against a pole while it was locked up. This paint does seem to scratch easily.

    Clip-ins

I'm looking at adding clip-ons to my current bike too, but want to retain the platform pedal as well. I'll probably go with the Shimanos that I mentioned. For shoes, I'm looking at the Giro Rumble VR: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) (Link Removed - No Longer Exists)

    Clip-ins

I installed the Shimano A530 SPD pedals on my previous bike. See: http://www.amazon.com/Shimano-PD-A530-Dual-Platform-Pedal/dp/B001MZ2AGO They are a dual sided pedal so one side has the clip-in, and the other is a platform for regular shoes.
