    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

Weird, a google search shows you're right -- some reviewers have been given white models. There has been a fair bit of discussion on here about it never having been available for purchase. I've never seen it available in the past 1.5 years. Actually talked to Specialized too and they said there...

    Vado 4.0 Sale Price

Smart move on both counts! Apparently the white bike has never been produced.

Does this forum need regional split?

The way things are going, we're all going to end up with EU-style regulations anyway.

Gazelle Ultimate C380+ or Ride1Up Prodigy V2 CVT (belt)?

+1 to this. It's really nice to be able to select the "perfect" gear, but the gearing on these is not great for hills, and I've found the twist motion to be an ergonomic problem.

Gazelle Ultimate C380+ or Ride1Up Prodigy V2 CVT (belt)?

I think $2500-3000 is a more fair price for that bike. I doubt they're getting near $3700. The secondary e-bike market is very weak. It's a magical combination of components though. 90 nm Brose motor and the Automatiq is so seamless. Can be set to automatically shift by cadence, or there is a...

Gazelle Ultimate C380+ or Ride1Up Prodigy V2 CVT (belt)?

The Brose system is one of the quietest, Bosch Speed is one of the loudest systems. You should probably try a Specialized Vado 4.0 as well. It uses a very similar Brose motor to the Ride1Up. You'll get local support with it like the Gazelle. That C380+ is a 2021 model, fwiw, using the prior gen...

    Update to/New Turbo Vado 5.0?

I know there are some issues with the Automatiq, but this thing really is so much better than R&M and Gazelle, imo. I've tested the Automatiq and loved it. How has yours been?

    Lights Save Lives

Aren't flashing headlamps illegal in Europe for this reason? Lighting in different parts of the bike is key imo. Daytime running front, varia rear, helmet light, etc. Having a light on a helmet makes it clear from further away that it's a person on a bicycle.

    Stromer ST1 vs ST2 in 2024

So you bought the ST1? Totally agree on the pinion. Derailleurs are going to be the easier option for maintenance and repair simply because every bike shop can work on them. I tested an ST3 and I while I can tolerate Pinion/Nexus stepped twist shifting a lot more than Enviolo it just isn’t my...

Nice Feature on a Hub Drive

Wish I knew about that before spending $80 on new brake pads after only 1000 miles! :) FWIW, the (2021-2022?) Stromer ST3 that I tried seemed to continue powering forward for about 1.5-2 seconds after pedaling. Kinda weird.

Nice Feature on a Hub Drive

Stromer uses the motor to lock the bike and make it unrideable as a theft deterrent. I found regen to be very useful for saving your brakes from excessive wear. They’re also the quietest motors by a mile (but still some high frequency whine if you have good hearing to detect 14 kHz). All in all...

Help me decide - Used 2022 Cannondale left Neo Vs 2021 Trel Domaine HP

Max tire size of 38 is a bit of a bummer imo depending on the surfaces that you ride on. 47 is a big difference. The weight on these bikes is super low for such powerful motors. These are the most powerful Bosch motors which are even used on cargo bikes. :D Have read the lefty is an increased...

    Stromer ST1 vs ST2 in 2024

Hmmm, that low gearing range really makes me wonder about hills. Heavy bike, the torque figure, and the fact that the motors can overheat...

    Gazelle Avignon/Ultimate - Other options

Better to have a smaller bike. You can adapt it to a larger rider by increasing the seat post height and using a longer stem (if needed). Limited options to reduce bike size. I can (very) comfortably ride my wife’s size small Gazelle Ultimate at 6’1”. In fact, it’s more comfortable because the...

    Stromer ST1 vs ST2 in 2024

From what I’ve seen the mechanical pinion on the ST1 requires a bit of twisting force. I found that I do not like that on my bike that uses the Enviolo system. Also looking at these myself and wondering what kind of torque differences there are. Seems that Stromer quotes a nominal torque figure...

    Current Vado/Tero motors

Thanks for clearing that up :) Ok, so my primary concern is noise level. I remember a Tero X 4.0, Vado 4.0, and Vado 5.0 as being completely fine. Tested a Vado 3.0 today and it seemed a bit louder from the others. Anyone know if this is true?
