    BBSHD installed in my Radrover

I just unplugged the hub motor from the controller and taped the cable up and out of the way. It is possible to take the hub motor out, but since the motor IS the hub, you would need to find a hub that would fit the width of the frame, be compatible with your rim, and take it to a bike shop to...

    BBSHD installed in my Radrover

I come from a BMX background where I practiced "spinning" on a daily basis. I don't have big legs so I needed fast legs to keep up.

    BBSHD installed in my Radrover

I'm not an engineer that knows the math and exact reasons for this, all I can say is from my experience with multiple BBSHD builds that I'm finding the best performing front sprocket size to be 38-42T.

Help...Deciding on which dongle to buy..

For anyone interested, I posted a video on YouTube of my ASAEspeed 32.14 in action. Shows the glitches and speed performance.

    BBSHD installed in my Radrover

Lower teeth on the front sprocket means lower gearing. It also means more power... In this case I think the 46 tooth sprocket was too high and was working the motor too hard. Kind of like downshifting in a car to gain speed... More speed isn't all about gears, it's more about matching power...

    BBSHD installed in my Radrover

That's a tough one. I didn't think turning a $1500 bike into a $2200 bike was that bad, especially considering the performance gains.

    BBSHD installed in my Radrover

A friend of mine was so impressed with this bike that I ended up selling it to him. I loved the BBSHD so much and the fat tires that I custom built a new (better and more expensive) bike to replace it. I started a thread on the build here...

    BBSHD installed in my Radrover

Those are the Grand M.O.M. And Grand D.A.D. fenders. They are right at 4 inches wide at the widest part.

Finally finished my new fat bike build!

Thank you! I was worried it was getting a little too long. My display shows right in the area of 1500 watts if I pin the throttle in a high gear from a stop. I haven't been able to look down while climbing that steep hill as I'm too focused on the ground and keeping my front tire on the...

Finally finished my new fat bike build!

I have the 17" frame. The dolphin pack will not fit, but the shark pack fits nicely.

Finally finished my new fat bike build!

Another benefit for going tubeless is avoiding pinch flats while running reduced air pressure. I've already had two pinch flats on my other fat bike so I'm trying this out. I should be able to run as low as 3-4 psi tubeless... Something I'd never try with tubes... Benefits of lower air...

Finally finished my new fat bike build!

I finally finished my new fat bike build I've been working on for a month now! I started with a Motobecane Boris the Brut Sprung. I then installed a BBSHD motor with the new color display, a 30 tooth chain ring, and a Panasonic 52 volt, 13.5 A/hr "GA" cell battery. I installed fenders, a...

    Gen2 Bosch tools for dongle

The weather hasn't been cooperating lately and other projects have limited my time.. So I haven't been able to put a lot of miles on it just yet. Honestly I don't plan on using 3rd and 4th levels of assist for much more than a few miles at a time. And as far as battery size it's just the...

    Gen2 Bosch tools for dongle

I finally got my B32.14 dongle installed. I already had a crank puller that fit and the install took about 10 minutes. As I posted in another thread it is a little glitchy, but over all am happy with it. The glitches I'm experiencing is, at speeds over 20 mph every once in a while the display...

    The Largest Haibike Dealer

First of all... "arrogant" is not a very nice word. Especially when used to describe a new member that came here looking for support. Arrogant: having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities. Just my opinion... But a little harsh... I for one am glad to see...

Help...Deciding on which dongle to buy..

I finally got the corrected 32.14 back from Germany last week. It's been raining here for weeks now but I did manage to get a short ride in to test it out. Display seems to be not quite as smooth as stock... It will occasionally flash an incorrect speed very briefly, but works the rest of the...

New Build Considerations - Input Desired

I have built 3 bikes with the BBSHD and 3 with the BBS02 now. For someone with experience with electric bikes and given the opportunity to ride an HD and an 02 side by side, I would bet the majority would go with the HD for the additional $200. It's cadence sensor is far superior and quicker...

Chain falling off BBSHD alternative option chainring

The stock ring that comes with the BBSHD is junk. I've done 3 HD installs now and am not impressed with them. If you're using Luna, they have three options. The standard aluminum chain ring. This is 42 teeth and your best bet for $50. The Luna eclipse ring is heavily dished (about 1 inch of...
