Thanks Joe, I'll inquire about getting a triple ring crank, and if you can adjust the regen, I'm really leaning toward this bike as I live in a very hilly area.

Thank you for the replies. I worry about the hill climbing because the front crank is 52T only. The store I was at didn't have the front triple crankset on any of the Stromers.

I'm considering the purchase of a 2018 ST1 with the P48 500W motor. It's rated at 30 NM. How will this go on steep hills? What can I expect? Also, I read that regen doesn't engage until you get below 50%, but the review was several years old. Have they fixed that? Thanks, Rich

Thanks surfstar for the insight and info. I'm torn between the Stromer and Urban Plus, but the COBI setup I think is the way to go. Since I'm not in a hurry I'll wait and see how this all plays out.

I keep getting ads for this bike at $1700 but I won't consider it until Haibike does a 2017/2018 side by side comparison and explains the $2000 difference.

Why is the Urban Plus priced so radically different. Haibike has it for $3599, while other sites have it for $1699. Does this bike have a major flaw that is being hidden? If the year is different, the specs are the same...what gives?

I found a solution, so I don't have to buy a Garmin. I just found out today the Mission Control App can change the modes on the fly in the mode screen. I will get a mount for my iPhone and that should do it.
