Bigger tires, lower pressure and going fast = more comfortable :-) I switched to the WTB Horizons on my old Canondale and they were awesome. I'm sold on big tires.

Good point, will have to re-assess the options. Thanks all.

What's the biggest tires you can fit on the Quick E? Mine has the 2.25 Schwalbe G-Ones - thinking of the 2.4 or 2.8 Super Moto X if they'll fit.

Great write-up Peter. Sounds like we can avoid a few of those now we know from your experience. Just on the computer in the wet, where do you think the water was getting in? Might be something some laminate clear paper can fix?

You got Super Moto-X tires on that thing @pullenj ? I've been thinking about getting those - thoughts?

    Possible Giant Hack

I've tried this on a 2019 Quick E in Australia and it appears to do nothing, just changes the screen brightness and lights.

Giant Quick-E 2018 Canadian Version - Question on the 32km/h Speed Limit - If you go faster any risks to Motor or not??

Does this still work on the 2019 bikes? Thinking of trying it on a quick e

You will definitely need a longer chain, adding 6 teeth to the chainring will make for a very very tight chain. Good practise on any bike is to change the chain whenever you change a chainring or cassette, even if it's just like for like with no size change.

How many times have you heard "that's cheating!"? ?

My response is always 'then why am i knacker'd?' Which is Aussie for why am I so tired.

    Tuning and Warranty Giant

It'll void the entire warranty. But then again you could always take it off before taking it in for the service or whatever.

    Extending Battery Life

This bodes true if you're on perfectly paved roads. If you are on anything else with crappy pavement etc.. then lower the pressure a bit. The higher pressure can sap momentum if you are constantly hitting little bumps. If you lower the pressure it'll just eat up those bumps. Not to mention a far...

Anybody recommend a Front Hub Motor for 27.5 Salsa Blackborow?

Hey all - going down the rabbithole with this a bit. Researching the Salsa Blackborow and converting to a Geared Front Hub Motor. Doesn't have to be a 50kph monster, just something that would help get it moving up to maybe 25-30kph. Can't seem to find anything that fits the 27.5 rim (tyre is a...

    Giant 2020 ebikes?

Correct. 700c is a bigger rim around. It a traditional road bike rim size. 27.5 is a smaller rim however typically made wider so you can fit wider tires on them. But - all things are not equal of course. Cannondale made their Slate with 27.5 rims and put a 42c tire on it. They said this gave the...

    Giant 2020 ebikes?

It looks like they've made the Quick E into the fast road, had a model/name change.

    Giant 2020 ebikes?

This is the thing that I'm thinking about - my daily round trip is exactly the same as yours and battery capacity is a big factor. If these new batteries are smaller then it makes me unsure. However if they are more efficient then that could be a good thing. But a 30k commute for me, 85% of that...
