    Losing Tire Pressure

I put a little pressure in my tires every month. A few PSI, something like 5 at the most but I'm running tubeless but I wouldn't check the pressure of any given tires more than once every two weeks except if I'm a heavy rider (more than 300 miles/week, in than case, I would check the pressure...

    best battery use

Rad uses (like every others companies) lithium batteries. A cycle counts roughly as a 100% charge. If you charge 50%, it should count as a half cycle. Moreover, lithium hates being fully discharged. Others than that, there are a few things to do here and there (not leaving the battery fully...

    best battery use

I don't have issues getting 40 km (24 miles) on almost PAS5 on my 2020 Rhino (EU Rover) on mostly flat roads and in Paris. Because of the traffic, I'm not always pushing the bike when I know I'm gonna stop in a few meters (red light, traffic ahead, pedestrians, etc...). I guess, in my city...

How skilled are you in fixing your ebike ?

Well, I really don't like doing mechanics stuff (and I don't consider myself good, quite mediocre in fact) but I had to learn the basics because I used to do long rides (on a regular bicycle, at least a century per week back in the days) and I didn't want to be stuck outside in the middle of...

    Rad Rhino (Rover) Rear Rack

I am preparing a long trip in September (hopefully, really when I receive my Bolton Controller, it is still in back order after a month). While I have the stock rear rack from Rad (it was sold with the bike earlier this year for the same price, it has been removed since), I am finding...

Rad City Chainring advice to increase top speed! Help Please!

Adding extra tooth in the front will require a longer chain. Just buy a new one and remove the extra links you don't need. Something around 90 rpm is ideal if you have the fitness for it and it definitively reduces muscles fatigue in the long run. But it becomes important for longer and harder...

    Contact Rad?

Ras in Europe has been very slow to answer by email but they are always available by phone.

    Can a fat-tire e-bike replace an ATV?

Punctures wise, I transioned my tires to be tubeless to avoid the small punctures. I followed this split tube method : As for the rest, I really don't know, the ATV is definitively designed to sustain more hazardous terrain than any fatbike.

    Battery

700, 800 or whatever else number is given out are guesses at best and those are given for a certain amount of loss capacity. You could often read that after 700 cycles, you would lose 20% capacity. Could be true or not but if you daily need is way less than the 80% remaining, it will hardly...

    Radrover Guidance for shorter riders...

I'm 5"6 on a good day and I would be considered youngish (35). I could understand stepping in and out would be an issue if there's a certain lack of agility. In that case, it would be wise to consider getting the step through instead. As for stopping and staying on the bike, I do the same...

    Rad City tire pressure

With the stocks tires, I would almost go the maximum pressure written on the side of the tire. For the Rover (don't have the City), it is 30 PSI (I would be around 25/28 psi). Since I went tubeless, I'm now between 15 and 20 psi and it is rock hard.

    Bolton controller

I am postponing my trip from August to September because some parts won't arrive at my doorstep in time. People are talking about upgrading and rabbit hole, suffice to say that I took an excavator this time. I hope everything is going to work out (the parts and fitting everything on the bike)...

    RadCity4 motor surging.

Call them on the phone. Emailing takes too much time, dunno what. But everytime I had to call them, always got someone on the line quite quickly.

Higher amps usage gives you a better acceleration. Battery voltage determines top speed and this is unchanged with Bolton's kit.

    Bolton controller

You can already remove the speed limit. Then, you'll peak at something around 35 km/h instead of 25 km/h.

    Bolton controller

Not sure yet. The controller from 2019 is slightly different (not the same series of buttons pressed to set the max speed at 25 mph / 40 km/h). I have already ordered a 750 W bafang motor on Aliexpress. I'll post some photos when I'll replace my original motor.

    Bolton controller

It is the same motor in Europe (rated as 250 W), Canada (rated as 500W) and USA (rated as 750W) : it's the Bafang 350 W. In Europe though, since 2019 I think, we've been having a new controller (or it could have been programmed differently), now no matter what you change in the stock...
