Friends Don't Let Friends Ride E-Bikes

My story is a lot like everyone else's. I have ridden bikes for years and years and have commuted to work on it. Then I hit menopause and my body really changed and the hills home after a long day became crushingly hard. That's no fun. This way, the assist not only made it fun again but also...

Asking for suggestions... and one question

I don't know about child seats and have never used them but I use trailers all the time. Would it be possible to pull a trailer and then leave it behind at the school and pick it back up on your way home? Just a thought. As for the mid, a mid drive with the weight in the middle is the way to go...

Bike lights that run off my Bosch battery system

Nice thanks. I'd love to have something integrated and simple as my bike is mostly a commuter and having only one thing to keep charged would be great. I'm surprised it is so hard to find something simple like this.

Bike lights that run off my Bosch battery system

Hey all, I have a Bosch Performance edrive and my controller has a slot of the side of it to download data, etc. Can I use that to drive some lights? I have tried general searches on the topic and get lost in the lights available. Is anyone else doing this and if so - what lights are you using...

    solar charging

Has anyone tried anything like this: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) I've been using my electric bike for bikepacking and pulling a bob trailer with it and that has been great but range has been limiting. I know I could create my own solar panels but frankly, I'm just not that handy and I...

why do folks want a higher watt motor?

If I hadn't discovered ebikes, I would no longer be biking to work which I love to do. I went through menopause pretty much the same year I accepted a fairly large promotion at work requiring me to work much longer hours. Those two things combined started to limit the days I could ride and I...

front suspension with bodyfloat vs full suspension

BTW, you could go with a hard tail and just get a seat post like the thudbuster.

    batteries and arizona heat.....

Interesting. I'm in NM and we have some high heat during summer as well. I had lost the key to my lock so I took it in and they brought the controller up on the computer. It was interesting to see what was recorded (I have a Bosch 36 v battery). I had one heat 'fault' on mine. I asked him to...

why do folks want a higher watt motor?

Great conversation. I guess it all comes back to your goals and expectations. I wanted a bike with help and am still a fairly strong rider so I can still supply some of the work (except when exhausted at the end of a long day of work) and just enough kick to make off rode riding fun and not...

why do folks want a higher watt motor?

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm in the same camp that Donny is for the most part. At this point in my life, PAS 1 and 2 are usually more then enough to get me up hills and through the wind at decent speeds. Occasionally (like when I'm riding home trying to beat a storm), I wish I could go...

why do folks want a higher watt motor?

I started with a 250 watt motor in the front wheel of my bike but the controller wasn't reliable so I purchased a Felt Bosch Performance mountain bike with a 350 watt motor and it is great. Works wonderfully well and I ride it all the time (3,000 miles in the past year). It does everything I...

Organic Transit Elf vs Virtue Pedalist

I've test driven the ELF and yep, have the same concerns. It is far to wide to fit on the bike trails and as much as I love the concept, far to small to be out on the roads. The Pedalist though looks cool. I wonder if it rides better.
