Thanks, yeah that looks identical to the size of the CCS controller. But I’m just now realizing that there’s no way to measure my CCS controller now that it’s installed. I’m a little confused by the label showing the limit current at 20A. I thought the CCX was supposed to peak at 25A. I guess...

    New CCX Pictures

Yeah, definitely overkill at night. Too much light at night is probably worse than having not enough light since drivers have to look away to avoid getting blinded. Although it’s probably quite effective in direct sunlight during the day. I have a Dinotte 300R for my road bike and always turn it...

Do you have a picture of the CCX controller? Some of us are wondering if it would fit in the narrower CC/CCS downtube.

Always On Daytime Running Lights...May have screwed up my CCX controller

I didn’t see any reset buttons or fuses on the controller when I installed the S controller on my CC. The only fuses I see are on the battery. If those pop I don’t think the battery will turn on.

Yeah, with the brake cutoff the assist is quite slow to re-engage. What I usually do is spin the pedals back 1/4-1/2 rotation to get the motor to cutoff. As soon as the controller sees the “negative” cadence it cuts the assist. The assist seems to re-engage faster if I do that. If you’re humming...

Motorcycles riders can grab the clutch to cut power. The throttle is also spring loaded to go to idle if you release it. On a pedal assist e-bike you’d need to remember to spin the pedals backward to cut the motor. Good luck remembering to do that in a panic stop situation. The Cross Current, in...

I believe the brake cutoffs are a legal requirement for street legal e-bikes. In a panic stop you really don’t want the motor continuing to provide power while you are panic braking. I would consider leaving them plugged in for your safety.

    CCX intermittent power

Yeah, dude came into this forum basically trashing Juiced Bikes saying that they could never deliver on their promises. And he was selling his own branded e-Bikes at the time.

    Grin Satiator

I’d trust the Grin over the display. My Satiator only seems to show the pack voltage right when I plug it in but before it starts charging.

Yeah, I mangled up the stock rear wheel nut using an open-ended wrench. Tora sent me a new nut for free. It can be done if you’re really careful but I ended up buying the wrench that Juiced Bikes sells for future use.

Higher gearing for a Juiced CCX?

58-60T would be a monster gear at the lower assist levels. I would go 54 tops. I would try a cassette with an 11T cog first. 52-11 is a pretty big gear and will get you into the low 30’s at a reasonable cadence. That should work fine unless you are cruising around in race mode at 34+ mph.

    1st long ride

The 20mph throttle limit is a legal thing. Street legal e-bikes can’t go over 20mph on throttle alone. Although I never really understood the complaint about that limit. You barely have to pedal on the top assist level to max out the motor. Anyways, going fast will burn through the battery...

My second ride on the CCX

I have a hard time imagining how it matters at bike speeds. Hydroplaning isn’t really a thing on bikes from what I hear. I always assumed they added the arrows because they got so many questions about how to mount them. I do know that many very flat resistant tires have a reputation for poor...

    First Ride on CCX

I imagine the hardest part is going to be adapting the Juiced connector to whatever the German ones use. I run a Specialized Flux Expert on my Cross Current from my road bike days which makes it much harder for me to justify spending money on something like a M99 Pro. The Flux Expert has a...

    Service and delivery problems: Solved?

Where are you seeing the ETT is the same on all three frame sizes? Typically the ETT/top tube gets longer with larger frame sizes although I don’t see that spec listed on their site. In general, you can make a bike longer with a setback seatpost and/or longer stem. There’s a limit as to how much...

    Grin satiator

If it’s a 2A charger then it would be 105-115Wh per hour of charge for a 52V battery. I’m pretty OCD about battery health so I’d probably put it on a 2 1/2 hour timer at work for the sake of longevity. I’ve got some 60-75% charge profiles setup on my Satiator depending on how far I’m going. It’s...

Chain Keeper on the CCX can it be sold separately?

AFAIK they don’t make 9sp Shadow Plus derailleurs. If you bought a 10sp derailleur and ran a wider 9sp chain you might run into issues. I guess you search the internet and see if anyone has successfully run that setup. When I did the upgrade I installed a 10sp shifter, chain, cassette and...

Chain Keeper on the CCX can it be sold separately?

I haven’t dropped a chain since installing a Shadow Plus derailleur on my Cross Current. It would happen pretty frequently on the top assist level prior to that.

    Juiced Crosscurrent X - Initial Review & 1st E-bike

Looks good. I like that silver color and feel like it’s the better choice vs black for visibility for those who don’t care for red. S mode will pull power as you approach 28mph to comply with the class 3 bike regulations. As I understand it, R mode gives you full power regardless of speed.

Thinking strongly about ordering the CCX

But there are lots of class 3 e-bikes being sold that peak at more than 750W of power (including the Stromer ST2 for example.) I think the law only cares about the nominal rating of the motor being 750W or less. I do believe that the assist has to cut out at 28mph in order for the e-bike to be...
