    Battery Cost: $1,299

Are you talking about the 1kWh batteries? Those are going to be expensive even in the aftermarket. I don’t know about the latest wide format batteries. But on my narrow battery Cross Current their are less expensive options out there if you are flexible on battery capacity.

    Bent rear tire (maybe rim?)

I rode my Cross Current for a long time like that with no adverse outcome. I eventually watched a YouTube video and ended up truing it on the bike myself and it’s much better (although not perfect). I don’t even own a tool to measure spoke tension. I wouldn’t be too obsessed with having the...

Has anyone replaced the clutch gear assembly on their CC(S,X)?

My clutch is slipping and/or failing to engage. I pedal and can hear the motor spinning but there’s no forward motion. It’s still rideable but it’s getting more annoying with time. Sometimes it takes 5+ times before I can get it to engage. I will probably add some grease to the gears (since I...

Is the Bafang motor used on the Crosscurrent line customized for Juiced?

This is what it says on the store link. I would not hesitate to e-mail him your order and PayPal the money. His prices are super reasonable. “ ** July 14, 2020 UPDATE: Ebay removed my listings. Not sure of the problem. I m working with them to re-list. All standing orders are being processed...

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

I test rode the Vado SL. It looks like the fork and rear stays have clearance for 45-50mm tires. The fenders might not work as well in the wet but it looks like you could get the tires to clear everything.

    Specialized’s ultra-light 120-mile range e-bike - Turbo Vado SL

I don’t own the Turbo Vado SL (considering one) but I can tell you that a suspension seat post like the Kinect will make a massive difference. I basically can’t ride my current e-bike (Cross Current) with a standard rigid seat post as the ride is overly harsh especially once you start going...

Has anyone replaced the clutch gear assembly on their CC(S,X)?

For anyone looking to do this replacement I found this very helpful video on YouTube. This convinced me to do it myself versus buying a new rear wheel assembly for $400+ from Juiced (if/when they ever get them back in stock.)

Is the Bafang motor used on the Crosscurrent line customized for Juiced?

Since Juiced has been out of stock of rear spokes for ages I’ve been buying replacement spokes from this eBay seller. He sells silver or black Sapim Leader 12g or 13g spokes and can cut them to any length. The stock length for Cross Current rear spokes is 232mm. But if you use a different rim I...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I work in aircraft maintenance so I am a aware that it’s possible to repair carbon fiber. The crack was on the inside of the top tube back by the seat tube (not all the way through) causing a creak every time I pedaled. Specialized tried laying some carbon fiber up behind the crack. I knew that...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Like I said, I was without a Specialized road bike for 6 weeks while they tried to repair a crack in the carbon fiber frame and then, reluctantly, supplied a warranty frame. I knew the repair wouldn’t work (and it didn’t) but it took weeks before I had my bike back to ride. I’ve also seen...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

The main advantage to Specialized is that you can take the bike to your local dealer to have it repaired. Their mid-drive motors seem to have their fair share of issues if you look at the Specialized forum. I have owned Specialized road bikes and once had to leave it at my dealer for a month to...

Is the Crosscurrent s2 a lesser version of the older Crosscurrent S and the Crosscurrent X is the same as older Crosscurrent S?

If the CCS is 10A nominal then so is the CCS2/CCX since they use the same controller. I don’t know what nominal means in the context of the controller label. Numerous owners have confirmed they are putting out at least 1000-1100W continuous power according to the display. Makes about as much...

Is the Crosscurrent s2 a lesser version of the older Crosscurrent S and the Crosscurrent X is the same as older Crosscurrent S?

It’s been a couple of years since I installed the 20A controller in my Cross Current but if you substitute “limit” for “nominal” in my previous posts everything else is accurate. Limit current being the maximum continuous current the controller will sustain. If it were really a 25A continuous...

Is the Crosscurrent s2 a lesser version of the older Crosscurrent S and the Crosscurrent X is the same as older Crosscurrent S?

If you zoom in on the label of the controller it says 20A nominal. That’s the maximum continuous power that the controller can sustain. That’s the controller Juiced Bikes lists as compatible with the CCS/CCS2/CCX and we have seen confirmation that is the controller installed in the CCX from the...

Is the Crosscurrent s2 a lesser version of the older Crosscurrent S and the Crosscurrent X is the same as older Crosscurrent S?

The controller for the CCS/CCS2/CCX is exactly the same so my theory is that they all have the same power. If you have a 52V battery you have nominally 4V more voltage so 80-100 extra watts on any of the bikes. There is an over boost feature that has been around since the original Cross Current...

What's your plan for a flat tire 10 miles from home?

I wouldn’t want to change a rear tube out on the road. It takes me 30-40 minutes to do in my living room. I know it’s theoretically possible but I wouldn’t want to do it. That’s coming from someone who’s changed a couple dozen tubes out in the wild while riding conventional bikes (god bless CO2...

    CCX rear flat

I don’t even bother carrying a tube and pump with me. I always have a U-Lock with me. If I get a flat I just lock the bike up and take a Jump bike, Lyme scooter or Uber/Lyft home and immediately jump in my car and go pick up my bike.

    CCX rear flat

I use the Schwalbe Marathon Almotion 28x2.0 on my Cross Current and have only had one flat in ~18k miles. The one flat I got was a drywall screw through the sidewall that just about any pneumatic bicycle tire is susceptible to (sidewalls don’t typically have much protection). I wouldn’t even...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Thanks Bruce, weirdly right now it only seems to happen when I’m turning. I guess the side load causes the clutch to slip. I’ve noticed that the website has been showing out of stock on the rear wheel assemblies for a while. Hopefully they have some in the warehouse to use for tech support issues.
