Incidence, type and age demographics of ebike related injury

Ebikes hit all the right buttons for a sharp rise in injuries. They're faster, heavier, more often ridden, and ridden by more older people than non electric bikes. I know a fifty some-year-old man who hadn't ridden a bike in years. He had a 1000w hubmotor installed on a super cheap twenty year...

Need Help finding the right E-Bike

Grin still has its motor calculator on their website: https://ebikes.ca/tools/simulator.html . It will show you all the curves.

Will 6.5a make a big difference?

All I know about lawyers is that when you need one you want a good one. Lawyer/politicians are a whole different piece of work.

    Am I adequately covered?

As I read the above I thought what is wrong with a good old-fashioned frame mounted pump. Then I remembered I have an ebike 😏.

To the "Karens", and the "Carls" out there😂 Those riding dirty too.

All my life I have been seeking a cabernet like the one I tasted in the early seventies on trip to the Napa valley. None of us were over 21, but things were more relaxed back then. That first taste of good wine has haunted my ever since.

    First e-bike.

Yeah, the beauty of a hub drive. You get to use your legs on those steep hills. I only need enough assistance to avoid right knee pain, and can get up my steepest hills at under 200 watts.

New Jersey Would Be Foolish To Require E-Bike Insurance & Registration

I don't know. As kids, we sure drove our motorbikes a lot more cautiously on the street before we had our drivers license.😉

Or both. You won't be disappointed in the performance of a Grin conversion. Some might complain about the price, but I look on an All-Axle motor as an investment in its own right.

    Searching for the perfect ebike

I don't know about you, but I would be worried about leaving my $10k+ bike outside the pub. Though, you could do a Grin all-axle rear hub motor on your current bike, and have a torque sensing, regen braking, smooth and quite rolling super ebike for about two grand. And it's easily reversible.

    Winter Sucks

In this corner of the Pacific Northwest it's been a mild winter. Most moisture is going to California. Our problem is a deficit of mountain snow, and that is our source of water and power. If things don't turn around soon it will be a difficult summer.

Since you like your Rivendell so much maybe you should think about motorizing it.

    Ebike I want to pedal

My favorite bike is a rear mounted direct drive hub motor with torque sensing on a full suspension MTB donor that I scored for $30. It's a Grin motor kit, the best of the hub motors, but they cost a heck of alot. I believe that you can get a great full suspension torque sensing mid-drive, but...

Dutch police begin roadside testing to curb illegal ebikes

I'm quite happy going 15 to 20 mph on my ebike, but I do wank on the throttle as needed. Yeah, that's 30+mph, but I only do that in situations where I feel the need to keep from getting crushed. If the infrastructure kept me safe from the automobile I would probably be happy at 25kph. That's not...

Upgrade of Huffy Oslo folding ebike

Overall, I think the battery looks pretty good. I wish I knew more about the BMS. Like, does it have a balancing function? Probably the shadiest thing electrically is the charger. At the moment I believe the BMS shut the battery down on overvoltage, and the culprit, I suspect, is the cheap...

Upgrade of Huffy Oslo folding ebike

It's been awhile since I've been on this thread. All was well in Oslo world, that is until my battery failed on my number one Oslo. I had charged up the battery, and when I went to turn on the bike it briefly lit up but then went dark. I figured that this was the endemic battery failure...

    UPP BATTERIES BANNED AND DANGEROUS

Oh, I don't know about building batteries. I mean, you're looking at a bomb at your fingertips. Great skill to have, as all ev roads lead to the battery, but not something for the faint of heart.
