I have heard that the 'fix' for the battery connection problem (shorting, degradation of the connection that some have fixed with straps) is that Juiced fixed this with a replacement battery since the 'connection' failure was with the battery connection. Is this true? If so kudos to Juiced.

Neither beeline nor velofix have a local franchise. I can put it together, just concerned if there are electrical or motor issues. Also, Brose occasionally updates the motor control and you apparently need a dealer to install the software update. Bosch does this once or twice a year. Not sure...
