Road Tires for EXPLORE E+ 1 GTS?

I think I did about 2500km on Marathon Plus without a flat on my old NCM and I've done another 2500km on Marathon Racers on my Giant Fastroad and no flats there either. Before that I had Smart Sams and had three flats in about 1000km. Marathon Plus are heavy but at the end of the day they were...

2021 Roam E+ - help with chain drop issue

Too many links would be unlikely if the chain is original. The downside to removing any could be that your chain would be too tight to run properly or even shift to the lower gears (larger rear cogs). Have a look at this video and Google "B screw adjust rear derailleur" in relation to...

2021 Roam E+ - help with chain drop issue

I'm not really an MTB guy but it sounds to me like your bike would benefit from having a clutch on the rear derailleur which I assume the stock one doesn't have. I thought that clutch derailleurs were really only to compensate for the huge differences between the smallest cog and chain wheel...

    Freewheel for Moscow+

I can't remember whether mine is an actual Park Tool one but you need a Shimano freewheel removal tool like the Park Tool FR1.3 https://www.parktool.com/product/freewheel-remover-fr-1-3

    Freewheel for Moscow+

I think the cheapest I found for me was Kogan (https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/leon-cycle-freewheel-ly-1108hfn-8-speed-for-moscow-plus-venice-plus-milano-plus-miami-aspen-plus-1226000009/). I know that they do ship internationally but I am not sure of the costs etc.

    Freewheel for Moscow+

They used to be available on the Lyon Cycles website but they seem to have disappeared now. The model number is LY-1108HFN. I did a quick search for that and "Canada" on Google and found the following link https://www.amegoev.com/elevate-8-speed-11-32-freewheel.html, but if you dig around you...

    Power loss

...unless the cadence is dropping below the minimum required to trigger the pedal assistance. My suggestion would be to get in as low a gear as feels comfortable and pedal quickly (rather than pushing really hard) as you climb.

    New Bike Day! 2021 Stance E 2 29er

I have had the same problem a few times - I have fixed it by blowing compressed air and contact cleaner into the connectors and letting it dry out completely.

Chain skip on fastroad ex pro

I'm not sure I could cope with my bike going 40% faster. In all seriousness the power delivery of the PW-X2 motor is fabulous. Apart from the occasional "blast" I have never really run it at more than 100% assistance and it goes up to 360%!

Chain skip on fastroad ex pro

I only use the smaller chainring if I am riding it without the battery or if it runs out of charge (once). I must let my bike know that it is limited to 25km/h - I don't think it realises ;)

    Moscow plus c7 display confusion

Cadence is the number of revolutions per minute of your chain ring as opposed to the speed you are actually traveling. My preference is always to keep my cadence as high as is comfortable for me (approx 90 to 100 in my case) and then change gear to suit the speed I am going. That should not...

    Moscow plus c7 display confusion

My experience of the NCM power assist levels has always been that they are basically just speed limited; so PAS 6 cuts out around 25 km/h but offers assistance all the way up to that level, PAS 5 cuts out around 22 km/h, PAS 4 @ 18 km/h and so on all the way down to PAS 1 which cuts out around...

    Moscow plus c7 display confusion

I think that if you are going that slowly you need to drop down the PAS to a lower level, say 1 or 2. The PAS levels are very much speed related on the NCM (and most hub drives) rather than torque or true cadence related. Were you going that slowly because you felt like you were losing power...

Chain skip on fastroad ex pro

Nice that they were honest with you too - it would have been easy for them to just put new everything on and charge you.

Chain skip on fastroad ex pro

There is nothing really wrong with just replacing the worn cog rather than the entire cassette but make sure you check your chain at the same time. A worn cog can damage a chain and a worn chain can damage ALL of the cogs.

Chain skip on fastroad ex pro

Your chain should definitely not be wearing out within 350 miles, even without any maintenance, but you could conceivably have damaged the smallest cog if you are never out of it. It appears that one of your problems is that the Fastroad EX has no front derailleur and you have only a 42 tooth...

Chain skip on fastroad ex pro

The standard chain should be a KMC e.10 Sport, which I think should have 122 links out of the box. If you are changing like for like in terms of cassette then that should do you but you can always count the links when you take the old one off. How many miles have you done on the old chain and...

Giant fastroad E +1 pro 2020 electric bike - tyres, wheels

I would have thought that the frame and forks would be pretty much the same as the 2020 Revolt E+ Pro and that has 700x45c tyres. I have no trouble with 700x35c tyres on my Fastroad E+ 2 Pro and still have room for mudguards.

Giant No Longer a Value Brand? A Tale of Two Similar E-bikes, Two Years & $900 apart

Of course you can always shop around for "last year's" model. On almost the last day of 2020 I bought a 2020 Fastroad E+ 2 Pro for AUD$3899 (list price AUD$4799) and the 2021 was already in shops for AUD$5199. The main differences as far as I could see was a different paint job and a rotor...
