    bike seats....

To me a proper fit and saddle are the two major components of a comfortable ride. And face it, if you are in pain you are not going to ride as far or often. So $300 is not to much to pay. If your rides are routinely 30+ miles, a good saddle is more important than suspension, gear ratios, and...

Hub drive vs mid drive, round 2.

    Good to know.

What Width Tire is Considered Fat?

IMHO a “fat tire” is 3” + To me they start looking that way at 3”. My eBike has 2.25” tires, which to me is Hybrid bike style. But I have no idea what the official figure is.

Raleigh Redux - Brose Motor Warranty

It’s not unusual for the manufacturer to warranty only the parts. I made sure before I bought my bike the dealer warranty included labor. If my LBS wasn’t willing to back up what they sold, I would have been out the door. Sorry you had this bad experience, and I hope you have a good LBS in your...

Which ebike is better and why? Back motor, mid motor or front motor?

They are equal. It all depends on the riders preference, style of bike, and intended use.

    Worlds Lightest ebike?

I would be greatly interested in a Hybred style eBike in the 35lb range. My Magnum is 53lbs with battery, feels fine when riding, but a pain to flip over for maintenance.

    Juiced Bikes 40 mph!!

To those of you that are pro 40 mph eBike: at what point do you draw the line? 50 mph? 60 mph? At what point do you think a drivers license should be required? How about license plates, insurance?

    Juiced Bikes 40 mph!!

No interest in going above 30 on a bicycle. Not against others doing it, but not for me. I do feel people riding this type of bike on trails, paths, sidewalks and even some streets (and you know they will) will herald more regulations for all of us.

Known Issues & Problems with Magnum Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

Hold the left brake lever in a little after you stop, that will cut the motor. I do it automatically as a safety measure. As far as why your bike is doing this, perhaps you are moving the pedal a tiny bit and unaware you are doing it. I was walking my bike one time and unintentionally bumped...

    Warranties

I can’t speak for any other shop, but the LBS (sells ebikes only) said I had a one year warranty, parts and labor. That and the 10 day return for any reason policy, plus $1700 out the door sold me.

    Any eBike Tax Write offs?

Not a tax write off, but I did get mine at a LBS sales tax free. The shop gave me a letter which I took to my doctors office. The doc transferred the verbiage to her letterhead, signed it, and I emailed it to the LBS. it was basically a letter stating that an eBike would aid in my health...

    Warranties

That is an excellent return policy for an online retailer! My LBS has a 30 day return policy (for any reason), needless to say I didn’t use it:) I do share the OP’s concern about parts availability, and speed of repairs. In the 1600+ miles I’ve ridden mine, I have had zero issues. I hope that...

Anyone Else Eliminate non throttle bikes? low top end?

What I ride now does everything I need it to do. But I know at some point, I will wand to “upgrade”. I’ve thought of mid-drives, but because so few offer throttles I quickly pass them over. I hope this changes in a few years when I may be actually looking. My bike now is class 3, but class 2...

    Safety with E Bikes

Traditional bike rider “an eBike is cheating, it’s not really a bike” Class 1 eBike rider “having a throttle is cheating, it’s not an eBike, it’s a moped” The same closed, protective mindset. Sad really. As long as each of us enjoy and use what we have, why do we belittle what others enjoy...

    Age demography for members.

Been on two wheels since I was a child, always enjoyed bicycles and motorcycles. Gave up the motorcycle about 10 years ago at my wife’s “request”, and went full on bicycles. The past few years have seen me riding shorter distances, and not as often. Age 65 now, got an eBike a bit over 3 months...
