Thule Velospace XT rack on Subaru XV (Crosstrek)

It’s been a while since I last posted. Work has been pretty bad the last few months. So been doing a bit of thinking to get out of the rut. We’re looking at getting a Subaru XV or Crosstrek as it’s known elsewhere. This is a good size car for just two of us and gives a good mix of regular...

Ortlieb Trunk bags on R&M rear racks?

Can't specifically comment on the trunk bags, but we got the Back-Roller Plus panniers and they clip on with any modifications. Perfect in fact. They do come with little inserts to fix on thinner bars.

R-M Delite rattling noise in motor

Very interesting thread. We had the same issue with one of our Homage GX Rohloffs. My partner's bike made that "rocks in a tumbler" type noise and it was mostly replicated when riding at a decent speed and pedalling just above the freewheel speed - i.e. not appearing to engage the motor much...

A continuing journey with our 2019 Homage GX Rohloffs

Just realised you’re getting the HS version. Wow! Don’t have that option here in Melbourne. It’ll be really interesting to see how the battery range is affected. 45km/h is somewhat scary. Managed to get up to 59km/h downhill recently and even though I had plenty of road left, I put the brakes...

Did we get the compact or the regular charger?

Interesting... here in OZ, we got definitely got the fast charger - not sure whether that's compact or standard. But it' s only for our voltage - so wouldn't work in Europe. We charged the PowerPack 500 (off the bike) from 1/5 and it took less than 3 hrs. Which would seem about right. We...

A continuing journey with our 2019 Homage GX Rohloffs

We have a couple of more posts on our blog here: https://www.ebikesandbrews.com/. The posts focus on recent trips but we've included some real world thoughts on how the bikes are riding and behaving. We definitely don't get out as much as we'd like what with work and now, the winter...

A continuing journey with our 2019 Homage GX Rohloffs

You'll love them and that wait... main that's stressy! We were like kids at Xmas and had to be mindful of not keep asking the dealer when they were going to arrive.

Congrats. We’re a few weeks in with our Homages and loving them but, still learning. I’m aiming to post about the suspension specifically soon. Air pressures and rebound knobs are new and initially confusing.

A second observation of the 2019 Homage Rohloff GX

Have done more riding now on gravel and very loose surface trails in regional Australia. We love the Rock Razors. On deeper loose gravel there was a slight slippage, but then they found their grip quickly. We have a lot of confidence in the tyres. On regular tarmac, we don’t feel slow.

The post won't go any lower than in the photo. It hits something inside the down tube, so seatpost could be cut I guess but 4cm is likely to hit the lock - which can always be removed. Worth keeping in mind that because of the rear suspension, the bike will dip down when you get on it. How...

At the lowest point the saddle does not hit the lock. I'd be disappointed if it did seeing as the bike costs so much. ;) In that picture the post is only just above it's minimum height. After lowering it to its lowest point the floor to saddle top is 915mm (36") and pedal top to saddle top is...

A continuing journey with our 2019 Homage GX Rohloffs

I'll measure that tonight for you and let you know. I'm guessing your essentially looking for the inside leg measurement right? We both went for the 49 frame size (the smallest) - I'm 1.7m and my partner is 1.65m which is at the lower threshold of that frame size and she's fine with it. Can...

A continuing journey with our 2019 Homage GX Rohloffs

150Km+ Now completed over 150km after the first couple of weeks. Going away on the bikes next weekend so will clock up a few more, plus the bikes will get a test along with their two humans up a steep climb - Mt Macedon, just outside Melbourne. Not really a mountain, but we're looking forward to...

A continuing journey with our 2019 Homage GX Rohloffs

Hope this is okay with everyone. I'm going to post links to our blog site and linked Instagram account. We're blogging regularly (or at least making a big effort to) and trying to pay it forward with all the threads and conversations we've seen and been part of on this forum. Love to hear...

    Suspension settings, opinion, discussion

OK, so I spent some time getting to know the suspension on our Homage GX Rohloffs. They have the Suntour Aion front fork and X-Fusion O2 Pro R rear shock. Did the sag test a few times and have adjusted both units for about 25%. I'm about 67kg and my partner about 59kg. The Suntour recommended...

    Suspension settings, opinion, discussion

Thanks for posting this - I've been trying to figure out the same stuff for our Homage GX Rohloffs. I have no complaints about the ride, but wanted to make sure no damage was being done. The video is excellent.

Nice summary. Agree re: Rock Razors. Found a nice loose gravel trail today and they did not slip or skid.

Homage GX Rohloffs - order placed

We've had the bikes for exactly one week. Check out the first couple of posts with photos: eBikes & Brews blog The summary is that we're loving our bikes and getting excited about cycling again.

    ordered yesterday

Congrats. We've had our Homages GX Rohloffs for almost a week and love them. We almost went for the Supercharger GX, but in the end we were seduced by full suspension.
