A guy brought me a diamond frame bike and wanted me to make it a step-thru by cutting off the top tube.
Do you have a photo of the bike to see how he stabilized the frame after cutting the top portion to make it a step through?A guy brought me a diamond frame bike and wanted me to make it a step-thru by cutting off the top tube.
I thought he was joking for full two seconds. I took a deep breath, letting him know that it was a minor technical thing that prevented that and it could not be done... without laughing. Not a snort or shake of the head. It would be like removing the top half of the Brooklyn Bridge.Do you have a photo of the bike to see how he stabilized the frame after cutting the top portion to make it a step through?
The bike was for 5'9" to 6" a medium. He was 5'7" but wanted a good deal on it. I will not wreck the integrity of a bike frame. Like a topless Corolla a huge amount of reinforcement would need to be applied underneath. Another guy once approached me wanting a Honda Accord made into a convertible limo back in the '80's. It is nuts. Better his nuts than mine. So, were you able to remove the top of the Brooklyn Bridge then?![]()
If you are speaking to me, I absolutely love the Kenda Cursor Street tire. They do nicely when I have to veir off the paved path to get around someone as long as not getting crazy on it.Welcome to the forum! It's always nice to see someone getting back into outdoor activities, especially when an e-bike makes riding more comfortable. I agree with the suggestion about trying road-oriented tires in the future if most of your rides are on pavement. Please keep us updated after you've spent more time with the bike, I am sure many people would appreciate a real-world review.
Chinese junk! I have -and many of us do- an old trailer outback. The cable that connects to the car is like 30 years old, flexes back and forward all the time and sits in the full sun half the day naturally. So yes, they can make good insulation, and high quality multi strand copper wire exists, but to reduce costs...I am dealing with the biggest pain in the butt because everything is so small and there is no room to work. There are like 60 1/2 mm wires in a spaghetti mess to replace an internal controller, no room, and if one gets crimped I am screwed. One did break and I had to solder a work around. The more I move the wires the more brittle they become.
