I am in California. I work on eBikes every day and do conversions. If you have questions, ask away. Here is a photo of one of my Bafang builds.

thanks for reply,, After about 20 mins of cycling i get a slight hesitation for 1 or 2 seconds ,
then it picks up again and it might happen again a few more times. Im only doing short runs of about 10 miles
in case it fails. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

How hard are you riding it? It sounds like a thermostat. If the motor reaches an internal temp threshold it will typically cut back to 30% of power in limp mode until it cools.
Also check the wheel magnet alignment.
If you want to know who is saying this go to Google Maps and search PedalUma eBikes for reviews.

BBS01B, BBS02B, BBDHD or some other Bafang variant?

Hesitation could be bad power connections, Even a slipping chain may feel similar. If it happening under high speed load, or with light pedaling, or whatever?

You need to provide a bit more information like which motor you have and do you see any battery voltage changes on the display when this happens.
Double check all your connections, especially the battery for loose, damage or carbon build up on the copper connectors.
Also... Do you have the brake cut off connected? Maybe you're inadvertently touching the brake levers? Or there may be a short in the brake cut off wire
