New SL 1.2 motor - better range?

I believe the torque gains are all made in software, that is the motor is essentially the same motor but with better thermal management, allowing the motor to be run "harder".

Canyon and Bosch: Just confusing? .... or actually fradulent?

Canyon has FINALLY updated their website which now claims the motor DOES provide 65 nm of torque. This is not what their rep told me via phone, and not what they followed up with via email. The rep knew alot about the history of how this bike has been outfitted for both the US and other...

Canyon and Bosch: Just confusing? .... or actually fradulent?

Canyons last report to me via email was 50 nm. And 50 nm is what’s STILL on Canyons website. That was the whole point of the question. So whatever…as I said due to this ambiguity I struck the bike from my list altogether. If it’s 65 then fine. That’s why I was curious Trevor about getting...

Thanks. What’s the torque rating on the motor on this bike?

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

So my Vado 4.0 SL went for a 30 mile ride again yesterday and about 12 miles in, the power AGAIN started just cutting off, like the whole bike would shut itself off. It was doing this before, went in for service, presumably was fixed (NOT). It would power back up for 3-5 minutes and shut off...

Well, I went ahead and ordered the Vado 5.0 IGH

I haven't really heard much talk about enviolo being less reliable than the other hubs some of which employ actual internal gearing. The enviolo is being used in large deployments of rental bikes in numerous places I believe. That is a big bet in favor of the durability of the product. Most...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

So Specialized Atlanta (company owned stored/experience center) told me that it seems my bike which was dead after a ride (prevous post above) kind of resurrected itself without much intervention. No battery replacement was necessary. The two items that were suspect for it failing to power up...

Well, I went ahead and ordered the Vado 5.0 IGH

These were also hard decisions for me. There is no real “best” decision because they all involve trade offs. I was fascinated with the advantages and tech of the belt drive enviolo automatiq but I ultimately decided the “feel” of the ride on the heavier bikes kind of killed the nimble “feel”...

Well, I went ahead and ordered the Vado 5.0 IGH

This is I think the main question people have had and is hard to really get my head around. These factors would seem to all be functions of each other(?) In the case of the enviolo automatiq, the bike presumably does its best to keep cadence at a static pace set by the user, and the hub...

Well, I went ahead and ordered the Vado 5.0 IGH

My understanding is that the cadence setting in mission control essentially overrides the settings made possible via bluetooth and the enviolo app. Which means you have (I think) only the five or so ambiguously named cadence settings in mission control (slowest....slow...normal etc). I think...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Well I've had my Vado SL for about a week now and I was out on the silver comet trail yesterday, had ridden about 15 miles, and suddenly lost power and the display went blank. Tried turning it back on, which worked for about 5 seconds then it turned itself off again. That happenned about 3...

Canyon and Bosch: Just confusing? .... or actually fradulent?

Asher I think if I were still considering the bike that would be one option but Bosch is a big company so getting someone who is willing to give an answer about whatever happened at Canyon with this bike is potentially difficult. I think the main thing that drew me to consider it was its a...

I have not asked Bosch for clarification.

Canyon and Bosch: Just confusing? .... or actually fradulent?

So if a motor is said to provide up to 75 nm of torque, if it can provide only 50 nm of torque and no more, is does not "provide up to 75 nm of torque," rather it provides up to 50 nm of torque. See how that works?
