I'll throw one more idea your way. I've taken the mount to my hard trunk and have used the same mount on a soft trunk by backing it with a thin sheet of plastic on the inside of the trunk. Rigid enough to keep the Varia upright and pointing in the right direction! Good luck.
I've used Ortlieb rollers on my Vado with no problems. HERE is a photo of my setup: https://electricbikereview.com/forums/threads/new-turbo-vado-5-0-questions.30618/page-2
Yes, my Vado has the factory rear rack. I also use the Varia and if you look at the photos above, I bought a Garmin mount meant for the headset cap and mounted it to the rear cargo box I installed. That's not a reflector on the box but the Varia installed.
I'd be curious as to what the range of this bike is? I've also been unable to find a range extender for this bike for sale anywhere although I've seen them referenced. I understand that an extender for any Mahle ebikemotion X35 will work but they don't seem to be available anywhere. I mostly...
Answer from Specialized: Previous compatibility was accidental and probably was removed in a software update.
I like the Turbo Vado but I am so sorry I bought a Specialized. Nothing is ever easy with them. :-(
Thanks Stefan. So do you think that is a software issue on the bike or some sort of hardware issue connected to the motor replacement? Honestly, this would be so much easier to figure out if Specialized made it easier to get technical information on their bikes!
Thanks Stefan. That is interesting about the .62 miles. The problem is this field worked fine before the motor change and updates. I don't know exactly what information is sent from the bike to the Garmin via ANT+ but I would guess that the Garmin made the calculations from the data that the...
HI All,
I have been using the Garmin Edge 1030 with my TV 4.0 since I got it and one of the most useful fields on the Garmin is Travel Range. It takes into account the battery charge and speed setting and gives a fairly accurate estimate of the range remaining. Well my bike just came back...
UPDATE: The bike ride tests great! Thanks JayVee!
I'll add that this was a good teaching moment as well. This is the first non-traditional rear derailleur I've worked on and am used to High, Low, B-Screw, and cable tension adjustments.
