    Have tariffs affected pricing yet?

I haven't bought a lot of bike stuff lately (stocked up on consumables knowing tariffs were coming), but it's hitting us at work. We're refusing most tariff increases, so either not buying, or finding alternatives. We were right in the middle of a $12B expansion when all this started happening...

    Cable actuated hydraulic caliper upgrade

The big problem with rim brakes is that the braking surface is close to the ground. So, they tend to get grubby. Also, good disc brakes keep the pad very close to the rotor - helping keep out funk. Also, rim brakes suck when they get wet. And if the wheel is out of true or dinged. IME...

    Winter Riding Gloves

Don't generally sweat in those R7s below 60, but they're not insulated either. They are vented & have a surprisingly wide temperature range.

    Winter Riding Gloves

If it gets warm enough, yeah. That would apply to any glove though.

    Cable actuated hydraulic caliper upgrade

I've used both & they each have their finer points. No real disadvantages to either for most folks. Modulation is a bit better on the hydraulics. And maybe power. But. If I were gonna use an ebike for, say, fishing or hunting or urban duty - I might go for the mechanicals. Field repairs...

    Winter Riding Gloves

Yep, wind removing heat is the main culprit. I'm a big fan of Held gloves myself https://rideheld.com/collections/gloves . They aren't cheap, but feel like a part of your body and offer a good bit of protection. Yeah, it's motorcycle stuff, but I find they translate well to pushbikes when it...

    Sound in the Ears

Why not just use earplugs? You can get them everywhere, they're cheap, compressible and pretty much weightless. I used to keep a stash on all my motorcycles - total lifesavers.

My dream bike got stolen. Lessons, next?

Bummer. Denver is absolutely lousy with bike thieves. I would also not try and rely on LEO to find and recover your rig. They tend to care less unless you're actively being murdered.

    Long distance travel by Ebike

Giving it a good bit of your own effort & keeping speeds in check, I'd be able to get 100mi per charge out of that 625 Wh battery on mostly flat ground pretty easily. I ride a 7 & can get almost that out of a full charge on the 500Wh. However, that's riding the first 30 miles or so on almost...

    Do you ride with someone?

I prefer solo for so many reasons most of the time. I don't have to wait for anyone to get ready & they don't have to wait for me. We may not ride at the same pace. I stop & detour all the time, which would probably drive others crazy. Sometimes I don't stop for a few hours, which might also...

    shock absorbing seat posts

I have a couple Thudbusters that help. They're a little springy, but better than nothing. I have a PNW Coast on a MTB which is a dropper that also has suspension. It has a little damping, but not as good as fork suspension. Also uses an air spring, so you can fine tune it. It's pretty neato.

    Stupid E-bike games?

Slow races are fun. You make some lanes a few feet wide. Last one to the finish line wins. If you put your foot down, you're DQ. Fun on any kind of bike, but more challenging on motorcycles.

    Riding without the motor

Funny that you mention 'policies'. I've sort of developed 'guidelines' over time. I still don't use the motor for the most part unless I need to get across a street or I'm getting tired or on a mission. If I can't keep it above around 8 MPH, that means I've run out of gears because of hills...
