How are 3" tires for running on beach sand ?

I have 4" and they are OK. Just OK on the really soft stuff. I would avoid it though. Sand in the drivetrain is terrible. Really hard to clean out.

Carrying photography gear on a ride

I use a backpack as well. Tripod bungeed to the rear rack. I'm not chancing my gear falling off the bike if it's on a rack.

    Beware the "Gentle Assist" bike

A lot of people don't like group rides. When solo, it's really hard to average 20+ mph over 30 miles. I like class 3, but can see why a class 1 would be preferred by many. If you want range and don't mind 15mph with moderate pedaling, class 1 bikes makes a lot of sense. It's not about hiding...

    5000 miles with Orbea Gain

I've tried the Creo and didn't think the sound was loud. I've not yet tried Ebikemotion's hub motor yet however... The Brose motor didn't appear to be any louder than the Fazua in the Domane+ LT. Great point about the Creo's lack of gears. I have mostly hills around my place and that could...

    5000 miles with Orbea Gain

So...you're moving to Specialized Turbo Creo? 😄 Kidding. Good to hear that it's reliable. Not so sure about the more complex Creo. I too ride regularly, but I need some assist. There are just too many hills in my area. I don't like the class one bikes for the same reason as you.

You just defined it. Progressive means out with the old and in with the new. Look at U.S.A. now. OK. this is my political post for the month. No more I promise.

    Lectric XP and steep hills

Sorry about the late response. I missed the notice. I was 158. I'm 152 now. I think changing the gearing is a great thing. I don't see a point of trying to go fast on this bike, but I do think it'll be great if it can climb better. To increase range, the best thing is probably to go with...

What will eBikes look like in 2030?

By 2030, all ebikes will have GPS and the government will track your every movement. No mods allowed and you'll be locked out of riding in certain places.

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

For me, it would be purely politics. It's a one party state and things are being done without discussion. They'll raise the taxes when they feel like it and re-allocate funds without hesitation. I'm paying more and not getting more. As the day wears on, I feel more abandoned. I'd rather...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

Specialized shows the carbon version at 26.7, though that's probably the top of the line. However, the EVO version is still under 30lbs. The carbon comp (non evo) is probably somewhere in between.
