Very nice. I restored and converted a 1980 Gazelle with an S110. The Keyde conversion is the best for these old bikes. Share a pic when complete. The disk brake addition will be fun. Just on the rear?
The Code Keyde use for advanced settings is 1919. You can then unlock wattage up to 750 peak...
If you would like an S110 manual, just send a message and I will make a pdf of mine for you. They are very simple though, so you probably won't need it. I can help you with settings, if you would like to unlock max wattage or speed.
Keyde will lace it into any wheel size you want. For a basic strong aluminium rim (any size) it costs £25/$40. A carbon rim will cost around £200/300$.However, this significantly increases the cost of postage. If you want a basic aluminium wheel, the extra postage and cost will be good value.
The through axle motor is based on an S110, but if you order an S110 it will be wrong. If the bike is through axle just ask for a through axle motor. Better not to mention S110 in case there is confusion and you get sent the qr axle model.
The S110 is not through axle. You need to order the through axle motor instead. The 10ah battery is quite big. I'd go for 2x7ah batteries, which are closer to bottle sized. The Keyde ones are quite nice, but you can use any 36v or 24v battery to power these motors. If you have somewhere that...
The through axle keyde does in fact work very well. I combine it with diy bottle batteries on non X35/x20 eride frames, using the di2 holes for internal cabling. I have attached a pic of this conversion on my moda. The S110 or Through axle is the best suited for this type of conversion as it is...
I used the largest capacity 18650 cells available to me, with a good discharge rate, a fair bit better than the stock battery. I overbuilt just in case. I used Molicell P30b (3500mah, 30amp continuous discharge). So 252wh.
I originally wanted to fit 5000mah 21700 cells, in a 10s2p, but it was...
I recently converted a Lapierre x35 frame for myself. I used a Keyde motor with integrated controller, and similar spec to the mahle. However it is a little faster than the x35. It is a brilliant system. Not had any issues in over a year, and aftersales support has been fine, although things...
I was considering this carbon frameset for my custom ebike build. I use the shell of the x35 battery to make my own internal battery, and then install a better motor and system that is cheaper to fix and maintain. However, it looks like it is designed specifically for the mahle x35 system to be...
I am not sure yet how to incorporate it, but would hope that China would design frames to accommodate it for diy builds. I hope it does not go the route of canbus or communication protocol, as that is just annoying. The quicker "right to repair" becomes a thing the better.
Have you seen the little Truckrun bottom bracket motors? I am trying to research these and get more info, but hit a brick wall. No response from the manufacturer. It is incredibly frustrating.
