Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

for something like chain clean/lubricate you could probably just rest the saddle rails on the top of the clamp (be sure dropper is fully extended when exerting upward forces on the saddle tho), for something more involved, you could just replace the dropper with your old post and clamp that -...

You should be able to but it depends on your dropper and clamp. The ratio of the dropper post above/below the collar will determine how ez it is to do. For a 100 mm dropper like on my Tero, there is more seatpost above the collar than there is on my 50mm dropper on my Creo. So there is a more...

I realize you will be going another way and wouldn't want the expense anyway, you could get rid of one of the cables by converting to AXS. Internal routing of the dropper cable should still be possible - even with the 1.1 version motor, the Levo SL I had had a dropper that worked fine...

Main thing is to keep the seatpost/dropper seal clean. Easy to eyeball and wipe down when needed. For a fully fendered rear wheel, I would think the post stays pretty clean and your servicing intervals are very much extended compared to a primary off pavement mtb usage would be. Even my Creo...

I don't have fenders, but I'm guessing the Pirelli 45's wouldn't clear your bike. My SL 1 4.0 EQ had fenders and the 42 mm Swork Pathfinders would hit the bolt head for the rear fender mount - the front was ok. I ended up using a regular 38 mm Pathfinder on the rear.

I agree. I had 40mm Pathfinder TLRs (because the Sworks 42 mm pathfinders seem to be discontinued). Had really bad micropore sealant weeping on both sidewalls on one of the tires. Seems to have been a quality issue with at least the early batches of these tires according to other users...

    Turbo Vado 2 4.0 or 5.0 or 6.0?

The range extenders come with the cage and rubber band to secure the RE. Seems to work well enough tho the band fails after a couple of seasons in relatively mild California weather. Hasn't been an issue for me without the rubber band. Security is prob less a concern unless used extreme off...

Interesting. I think the Phantom S flatbar version would be a serious competitor to the Vado 2 SL/Skitch if it ever were available in the US. Compared to the Amflow, losing the suspension, fat mtb tires and the smaller 600 Wh battery should drop it into the 30's lb range. I can only hope...

I had a Levo SL as well and agree it is much more unwieldly than the Vado SL - tho more trail capable. I switched to the original Tero which is also heavier but has the much more powerful motor - which I would rather have if a bike is gonna be big and heavy. My dream bike would be a hardtail...

It does sound like you have a bleed issue with the brakes. But since the mechanic says no obvious leaks and you trust him, why have the brakes gone soft in only 15 months even after 2 services? And it apparently needs another. Air in the brake lines is usually what has caused my brake levers...

    Creo 2 Flat Bar Conversion

Yes, my Creo 2 needed DOT brake fluid. The conversion you are considering is exactly what I did. You need to change lever to compatile flat bar levers - I used a SRAM G2 series. The stock Creo 2 calipers on my bike were compatible and didn't need replacement. Brake lines can be reused but...

    Creo 2 Flat Bar Conversion

Comparing the distance from tip of the saddle to the handlebar clamp I find my flat bar M size creo is about 1 in longer than my size 54 vado sl 2. While sizing difference between a "medium" and a 54 account for som of the difference, the stem on the stock creo (80 mm) vs the stock vado (60 mm)...

Vado SL 5.0 versus Vado SL 2 6.0 Carbon - thoughts on upgrading

You're right, I was basing my comparison from the earlier limited edition Vado SL 2 , the Forward 50 version that already has those things. Not sure how much the SRAM red saves vs the Force groupset. But they also include reducing the 10-44 cassette to 10-36 shaving another 100 grams or so. I...

Vado SL 5.0 versus Vado SL 2 6.0 Carbon - thoughts on upgrading

Looks like the answer for less weight was remove the lights and swap the wire bead Hemisphere 47's for narrower rims and foldable narrower tires.

    Creo 2 Flat Bar Conversion

Relatively straight forward conversion. Currently Facebook Creo group has several recent posts/photos showing other recent coversions. You will need a flat bar (obv), compatible brake levers and grips, an AXS shift pod, and a bleed kit/oil or lbs to do the brake bleeds. The F1/F2 bips and...
