    2023 Trek Domane+

Great info - thanks to all, especially Antonio, for all the testing and reporting. I have never experienced the grinding, probably because I rarely do "catchup" pedaling - it seems I am either on or off, haha. BTW, I have been easing back into riding the bike again after going through PT for my...

    Domane + overheating in car

Yeah that's pretty bad. Here in the Southwestern US I regularly ride in 100-105 as it's almost unavoidable mid-summer. Just have to stay hydrated. But 114 would be brutal - I would look for shade and wait it out.

    Domane + overheating in car

Wow - I never would have thought of the heat issue inside the car. Thanks for bringing it up dkemme.

Fantastic to know that. I guess I never considered that option (rear hub motor). I tend to go for the latest and greatest :(

Redshift Shockstop Stem - Buying Used - ID help please

I bought one for my Specialized Roubaix and while subtle, it does make a difference. My hands no longer go numb on the drop bars. It used to pick up a lot of the road texture, especially with 28mm tires.

    2023 Trek Domane+

Thanks guys - sorry for the delayed reply - it has taken time to confirm what's going on because I get pain when I ride it that takes a few days to subside. I have the exact problem of the guy in that video - I need a narrower pedal stance, not wider, and there's no way to get it - my feet are...

    2023 Trek Domane+

I have matched those dimensions as best I can, thanks, but not saddle, although they look similar. I am however very sensitive to Q-factor, or stance width due to the nature of my almost nonexistent knee cartilage and biomechanics. Had to give up the MTB in 2015 after a severe knee injury that...

    2023 Trek Domane+

Thanks.. I *might * be able to get a couple more mm on the left (which, come to think of it, is actually the worst knee), but looking at the cranks, it appears the right one has made contact a few times already, so that can't go any closer. Maybe I will try moving the left cleat slightly...

    2023 Trek Domane+

I have had no chain derailments at all, although I always back off slightly. I also found it helpful in this regard to increase the motor response, otherwise the boost stays on and the shifts are harsher. I have also noticed the subtle increase in assistance when I hit a sudden rise, as WSP...

    2023 Trek Domane+

Antonio, I can't wait to hear how you like the Domane SLR. And if your tuning methodology unlocks any secrets :) I forgot to mention earlier that one thing I really like about the new Domane+ SLR is it uses standard road bike wheels 12x100 and 12x142. I have an extra set of Roval carbon rims...

    2023 Trek Domane+

Nothing is linked, Strava doesnt talk to any of my bikes, nor my Elemnt Roam, which I use as a simple bke computer. Everything is standalone, which is why I found the close numbers interesting, and supportive of the argument that the Trek is fairly accurate.

    2023 Trek Domane+

Have never used power pedals, but I find it rather interesting that despite the watts being all over the place during my rides (both rider and system watts), when I return from a ride and look at the average watts displayed in the Trek Dashboard ride summary - the sum of the two figures...

    2023 Trek Domane+

I have a new Domane+ SLR 6 myself, base model, purchased at the end of April. I was interested in the TQ technology, and wanted some assistance on super hot days or when the winds kick up on my return leg. I am 68 and live in Tucson, an active road cyclist logging 75-100 miles a week normally...

It's time to make Tucson's Loop an ebike tour destination...here's why

I live in Tucson and agree about the cycling here - it is utterly fantastic (one reason I moved here after I retired). As is the cuisine - it is rated a UNESCO creative city of gastronomy. I ride on the Loop 3x a week at least, on acoustic bikes, about 3-400 mi/month. Just bought a Trek Domane+...

    Trek Domane+ SLR 6

Older road cyclist here, adding a Trek Domane+ SLR 6 to the fleet. We have a fantastic paved bike path network here in Tucson called the Loop, with over 130 miles of interconnected paths running along the rivers and washes. It is a cycling nirvana, at least in winter, haha. Summer gets a bit...
