Looking at the cover case and it appears to be like all the rest of those Chinesieum Yamaha clone batteries that have been out there for years. Folks posting on the Euro ebike forums did not report any favorable opinions of it, from what I recall.
Don, I've done the same as well in requesting access to Matt's site through her daughter. I'm very much interested to read of Matt's thoughts outside of our EBR forums.
My gosh...... stumbling upon this sad news is truly like a hard gut punch. Being a fellow e-fat biker as Matt was, I enjoyed every post, every picture he put up for us. As others here have said, Matt imparted alot of wisdom and was certainly a calming influence for everyone to consider and...
If your mechanical skills are good then you should have no problem removing your motor and sending it off. I believe eBike Motor Repair https://ebikemotorrepair.com/?v=0b3b97fa6688 is the US arm of Performance Line Bearings. Pete, the owner of Performance Line pretty much started the business of...
Jo, you are one of the old timers here; waaaay back when this ebike game was just starting to think about getting ramped up to what it is today. Back when Court was running this site, while living in his Toyota Prius. Yeah, time is moving quickly under our feet these days. Too fast.
"But now...
I'll second @DaveMatthews suggestion of Deoxit. But I do question just how corroded these terminals really are. I highly doubt you are pedaling in a salt water environment nor leaving the charger and battery in a humid situation. Those battery terminals are well plated and require no lubrication...
You need the Yamaha X94 service manual to access the error codes, Bill. Find a free copy of the manual on the 'net and download it. There, you will find all you are looking for.
Well guys, I had to go out and check on the rear shock after I just ASSumed mine was a 110- Monarch RL......
D'oh...... it's a Monarch RT3......... 190x51!
The Rock Shox Bluto fork is a 110mm stroke. I think....
@Chazmo: I know that Electric Bikes of New England over in Derry, NH was at one time, probably the biggest east coast Haibike dealer. At the time I was looking in 2016, it was either them or Crazy Lenny, who was probably the biggest Haibike dealer of all. Link for Electric Bikes of New England...
@Chazmo: Whereas the Yamaha powered ebikes by Giant ARE proprietary (those Giant SyncDrives are Giant specific), the fat tired Yamaha or Bosch powered Haibike fatties are not. So if you have either a PW drive like I do, or a later PW-X or X2 Yamaha, any Yamaha part found on the 'net will work...
As for the Specialized e-fat, that was a Brose mid drive. And at that particular time, the Brose mid-drives would suffer internal belt failure.
I still have my 2015 Specialized Fatboy, analog drive. It's a well-built bike; but I noticed that Specialized sure nickle & dimed you on the components...
On Norco's website it appears their last model was built in 2023.
I don't know the current state of Shimano mid-drives as to their reliability. But not long ago, these mid-drives suffered inexplicable failures by what appears to be through no fault of the bike owner. They just flat out and...
