About 3-4 yrs ago I had some awful lower back pain, figured it was a disc issue. It was a new experience in pain. Never went to the doctor and started exercising and stuff for the back. Haven’t had any issues since, just have to tend to the body. I figure these are the golden years, the gov...
Mcmaster Carr is expensive to ship, their downside. I just ordered some brass bolts from them and they sent a certificate of what was in the brass, ever see that from china? And a lot of their stuff originates in the USA it seems. Take your SS rods and give them the stress test before you...
I could dig some electronic shifting. There is a lot of shifting with the 9 spd riding around town, lot of speed change, imagine a 12 spd would be even more. I could see the attraction of higher gear numbers if I was going to maintain a fast pace. Riding the wired ebike which has a 7 spd and...
I'm back up and running. Replaced the shifter and cable and housing at same time so don't know exactly which it was, but think it was the cable housing where it makes a short radius turn into the derailleur. I routed the cable outside the frame and made wider radius bends, hope it lasts longer...
You need to go to the mcmaster carr website and look at their steel rods and compare what you bought to what they offer, that'll give you an idea of how strong they will be at that price point. That would be an ugly accident to have those rods break or bend. I have had some pretty good bounces...
Make it a hub drive and toss the chain. That kind of environment a chain is going to get scratchy after about the first day. And don't forget charging the battery logistics.
Yeah, I have some cable and housing on the way. I tried the oil thing just yesterday to see if there was a difference, none noticed. There is a kind of small radius where the housing leaves the chainstay to the derailleur and wondering if the cable has worn into the liner or housing and...
My 9 spd Shimano Alivio gear selector setup is giving me fits. The gear selection is getting pretty sloppy, and delayed and sometimes non existent. I replaced the derailleur, no change so far. Pretty new KMC chain. Cogs and chainring are good. I am down to changing the shifter setup and see...
That cactus we had out front looked similar to that, wasn't jumping but close. Those needles go in and curl. Takes a pair of pliers to pull them out, and they don't go willingly!
Growing up in Wichita we had goat heads and the stickers, and mom's cactus out front. Up around Kansas City we don't have any of that. Though a year or so ago I noticed some stickers that had migrated to the area. I confiscated those and haven't seen any since. Definitely don't miss those...
