You need to go to the mcmaster carr website and look at their steel rods and compare what you bought to what they offer, that'll give you an idea of how strong they will be at that price point. That would be an ugly accident to have those rods break or bend. I have had some pretty good bounces...

Those are the frames I like. The steel with that design fork with the forward bend. Not so sure about the mtb:), looks like something I'd do though.

Other setback showed up for the other wired bike. The measured seat setback is 3". Without the setback pedaling would push you forward off the seat. Weird geometry.

On that note think I'll just cut mine and use it to move the seat back. Don't need the bouncy bouncy anyway. Actually don't need to cut it. Perfect the first time:)
