I ran through all the scenarios, but in then end the battery had unrecoverable deep discharge. A very expensive education as with most things Stromer.
Why their charger doesn’t have some kind of deep discharge prevention handshake with the BMS circuitry in the battery itself is beyond me...
Thanks. I have tried just about everything I could think of. The biggest pain is the only Stromer dealer in town went out of business otherwise I might have been able to see if it was a battery or charger issue.
Is there any way to test the battery itself?
I've had my bike plugged in all winter (I know, not a good idea). I went to ride it today and it wouldn't turn on. So I plugged it back in and got a 0% charge message on the screen. I unplugged the charger from the wall, plugged the battery into the charger and then plugged the charger back into...
Sure, I did buy it at Trekkinn VAUDE Silkroad L Snap-it
The price changes all the time depending who they actually source it from. Right now it is $47 without shipping. It's exactly the kind of bag I was looking for. Mine was shipped from the Netherlands, btw.
Vaude Silk Road L Pt. 2
Various shots of the bag on the bike:
#1 without expansion zippers open
#2 expanded there's enough room for my helmet
#3 roomy inside with pockets for stuff and a rain fly
#4 there's no law that says you have to carry water in the water bottle sleeve
#5 the...
After ten agonizing days, my Vaude Silk Road L arrived from Europe today! I'll split this into multiple posts to cut down on the load times for the photos.
#1 the "KlickFix" Snap-it adapter:
You can see how the pins rotate in and out. The entire adapter is made out of plastic. Might be an...
As a relatively new ST2 owner, I'm still in the honeymoon phase; but here's my 2 cents' worth. To level set, I ride exclusively on big city streets in a major metropolitan area. I'd like an option to strobe the DRL LEDs. The on/off cycle for an LED consumes no more battery than constant on and...
I know what you mean. The retailers don't always provide enough info and sometimes they show an incorrect picture of their products. Here are the two KlickFix snap-it adapters.
This one doesn't adjust and is too wide for the City kit rack on our bikes. You can see that the pins are set into...
The Rixen&Kaul website ( (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) ) lists 22 products equipped with their version of the snap-it adapter. Since the site uses javascript, I can't provide a direct link, but you can navigate to all racktime products from the main menu using "For Carrier"--> "Bags...
Thanks for the link. It's always good to have more options. That's three now and counting. I also dug up this e-tailer in Germany who sells through e-bay. Racktime trunk bags do pop up from time to time there...
Meet the "Tesla of Cars". As an owner of both, I feel confident that if Tesla actually made an electric bike, it would be very similar to the Stromer ST2. Honestly though, its just an excuse to use this goofy feature from the app.
Thanks for the nice review and update. I was on the fence between the 1-x and the 2 until I found a killer closeout deal on the 2. It is definitely more bike than I need for my use, so it sounds like urban commuters can get around very nicely on the 1-x, as was my expectation. The motor...
I'm still trying to sort out whether this happened when I shipped the bike, the shop messed up or if it is a "known" issue. The LBS that assembled my ST2 (not an authorized dealer) claimed that the hydraulic line to the front brake was kinked inside the frame and had to be removed and replaced...
Many thanks to the contributors of the similar thread started in 2015. Unfortunately, two years is like a millennium in bike gear time. Since then, Ortlieb lost their licensing agreement with Racktime and no longer offer any gear outfitted with the snap-it mounting system. They were the primary...
