I purchased this bike in May but haven't been able to use it like I hoped. The bike only has 37 miles on it, I upgraded to a brand new Bosch 500WH battery when I purchased it vs the 400WH. This is a plus tire size bike, size large which is 19" but has a sloped top tube for tons of standover...
The easy fix is to raise your handlebars then. Either a riser bar or riser stem. I just installed some 40mm riser bars on my Peak+ which made all the difference in the world. Any decent local bike shop can help or google for an online source.
Based on suspension components alone I would buy the Fox stuff. I just went through this as far as deciding between Bosch & Yamaha, in the end I bought the Bosch but mostly because the Yamaha I wanted wasn't available in my size.
My understanding is that the Yamaha favors a lower cadence & for...
I’ve pondered this since I first started researching which e-bike to buy. Most online “retailers” are sold out of E-Bikes with estimated shipping at least a month away yet locally there’s no interest at most bike shops to sell an Ebike. Plus there’s a genuine hostility in online mtb forums as...
I looked at a lot of bikes & felt the Peak had the best bang for the buck blend of quality components without blowing the budget so I can upgrade later as necessary. It doesn’t get as much praise as other e-mtb’s but I’m more than happy with it, thanks for all the kind words!
While I agree older cable pull & v-brakes work well I wouldn’t choose them over quality discs, especially hydraulic brakes. With 300-325lbs of weight I’d plan on upgrading brakes regardless of what I bought nor would I skip the right bike otherwise due to cable actuated disc brakes, it’s all...
I ended up purchasing the 2017 Izip E3 Peak+ with the Bosch CX. I worked a deal to upgrade to a 500wh from the factory 400wh for a minimal upcharge.
I'm happy, I've been riding the bike almost every day since I bought it & love it. I wrestled with all the choices & in the end decided on...
Isn’t the Haibike a mid mount motor vs the Surface Shred that’s a hub motor? That’s a major difference & you have to decide whether you want either or. Doing a search on this forum may help you determine which drive is better for what you want to do.
After you decide which drive system meets...
Unfortunately that's how I'm feeling, it's either a money grab from some of these companies or they don't know/care figure that their customer's don't know/care. With the amount these bikes cost you'd think that there would be more info available to the consumer. Again, not a knock to ALL the...
I've been seriously considering buying a Haibike with the Bosch or Yamaha set up but the fear of only having 350 watts as well as the 20 mph limit has been holding me back. I think the only way for me would be if I had a dongle so I could at least cruise in that 22-23mph range vs hitting the 20...
