Locking skewer for front wheel Stunner LT5

It's literally just threaded rod of varying length with common end parts, QR isn't going anywhere... And still widely used. Also: 135mm rear skewer is the same as front 135mm fatbike QR skewer. Future proof! OP, get that pitlock

Locking skewer for front wheel Stunner LT5

Pitlock (https://www.pitlock.de/en/) makes security skewers for QR hubs, is that the sort of locking you're after? I've installed them on a friends Biktrix electric fatbike and didn't have any issues, definitely available in a range of suitable sizes.

    Black Friday Free Shipping, NOT!!

Yes I'm a Biktrix employee, but I hadn't actually posted in this thread until now so I'm not sure why (new troll character) is name dropping me in the first place. Trolls will be trolls..

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

Which, the sold-out off-road edition (never intended to be "compliant"), or future models which haven't even been announced? Don't sweat it, It's not a difficult thing to solve. Power limits, speed limits, assist interface are all simple details. There will be future versions in several...

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

Yea, not all torque-sensor based implementations are great for general riding (or cargo, yea that seems like a bad idea). I've ridden at least six different embodiments of torque and/or cadence PAS, my favorite to this day is Ultra motor "Sport" mode, which is the closest thing to what we've...

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

Sure, but we won't bother with cheap "plastic magnet ring" cadence PAS on a bike like this. We've all ridden that sort of thing, and ridden real torque-cadence PAS systems, and know it's worth it to do it right.

Ken, we've had no issues at all with chain lube slinging onto the disk rotor. We only use Motul C2 lube, which is a very tacky lube which will never sling off the chain. Likely we'll be testing other moto chain lubes for compatibility, to broaden our recommendations there.

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

My personal take on urban commuting: great PAS is my favorite way to control a bike in the city, around motor and foot traffic, etc. Once you've spent time with good torque PAS on a road-optimized ebike, there is no going back. Throttle gets the job done, but is an inelegant solution requiring...

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

Yea I've added pedalUma to my ignores, just too much conjecture, not sure if I trust his claims and opinions. FWIW, his comment about flat Ontario and Saskatchewan is hilarious. I'm actually born in Alberta, grew up in BC, and started real mountain biking back in the 90s. In Canada we ride the...

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

1, attaches externally and small cable goes thru the back into the connector board (behind service cover) 2, user programming is subject to change, we're working on something that may provide a lot more programmable functionality in first batch. 3, absolutely, so long as it's 12mm Thru Axle it...

Nope the motor is fully enclosed, everything in the XD mid motor assembly is designed for wash-down, waterproofing and no issues with water, mud, snow, etc. Rear sprocket is standard 6-bolt #219, 70 teeth. Front sprocket is proprietary alloy steel 219.

We are indeed using the BAC 855 motor controller from ASI (based out of Canada as well). These controllers are actually capable of much higher power than we're using (72V limit, 90A peak current, 70A nominal rating). Very strong feature set. In regards to XD system versus rear hub motor of...

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

Hey guys, I mean this with the utmost respect: this is a one-sided conversation with regards to PAS, nobody here but myself are experienced in engineering with this type of product, and I'm not really at liberty to share what's "working" about our development process. In a few months...

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

Nope, it's because Sensor Systems take much longer to develop than anything else. In my professional experience, automotive/industrial grade sensors are one of the longer development cycles out there, and this is no exception. We could have put PAS in from the start but I'm not willing to cut...

New motor: Made in Canada, 2022 Mid-drive system

Wait a second, have you actually owned these motors and ridden them? (not knocking, just making sure). You will replace Cassettes, chainrings, chains, A lot more than $20-50 per 1000 miles. You said yourself "armchair research", I hope you don't mean that literally... The differences between...
