Update!
I went to look for more detail. She did not run out of battery. She took a wrong turn and flatted. She initially abandoned the bike, but after going around in circles, decided to push the bike and made it to a ranger station. Not likely an ebike -- I wonder if Debra Staples is even...
I don't think you'd get that attitude if you'd suffered a mechanical failure on a non-e bike. Running out of battery makes you look foolish and subjects you to shaming.
Responding to @Stefan Mikes
Something I've always worried about:

Not familiar with this park, but the mountain west is tough for ebikes...
Hi, I'm sure you've resolved this by now, but 595 is a cable issue. Since this happened after picking up from the shop, I would first check the connector down by the shifting unit. It is routinely disconnected while working on the rear wheel. If that's not it, the faulty cable is usually found...
Interesting. In the DC Metro, I remember looking at a Yamaha Cross Check at an independent dealer of multiple brands. The shop was literally inside the Bethesda (MD) Metro. I just looked them up to see if they still sell Yamaha, but they appear to be out of business entirely. I recall obtaining...
I'm inclined to agree w/ renting ebikes while you're in HI, but to address your question, you need to consider shipping via a dedicated cargo forwarder or ocean shipping via UPS/FedEx from CA to HI.
Ask H20 Logistics if they can help you or to recommend alternatives. The specialize in the CA-HI...

If Bainbridge refers to Bainbridge Island, at least you are local to management. From what I can see, they've been...
LOL, the local park didn't get the memo from YouTubers that they are responsible for 'infrastructure.'
I keep a sailboat in a slip with (multiple) 30A pedestal. I pay $0.13/kW-hr. That's $0.02 above the city utility provider rate, and that very modest surcharge goes to pedestal maintenance. I...
This is sponsored by a councilman in response to the pedestrian death in Chinatown last year. It is not supported by DOT or lobbying groups like People for Bikes. The latter seems obvious. I do think other jurisdictions would rapidly follow for the revenue. Insurance will follow. I do think...
I just sold a 2007 Giant OCR3 which needed work for $20. I listed it on CL and started getting responses within 20min. 2 hours later it was gone. I was happy to get the space back.
I don't disagree. I remember the original lineup: Turbo, TurboX and TurboS with GoSwiss drives? Honestly, I lost track of Specialized's progress during the dark days of Mission Control + getting pulled into BoschWorld, but the current lineup and footprint is impressive. My impression on the...
I watched this when released and thought it was one of the best ebike-themed videos I'd ever watched. I liked the synergy between Micah and his hosts - they played off of each other very well. I also thought it was very humanizing. Instead of "cheap Chinese junk" it was the people proud of the...
