When was the last time You listened to a record album?

These days I only play records to transfer to WAV and MP3. Played some last week I bought at an estate sale. I have a Luxman direct drive turntable and Audio-Technica cartridge AT440ML with a line contact stylus. I use a re-capped discrete transistor preamp and a Teac Digital recorder. I use...

    People are strange.... Free ebike.

People fear novelty or change. I for example don't like any music more modern than what was around when I was a teenager in the '70s. At least nobody's suggesting e-bikers be burned like they used to do witches.

    Great plan, poor execution

My chain hygiene: Take chain off bike, swish in jar of 50/50 acetone & paint thinner. Remove and link into loop, run through cyclone cleaner with water and orange citrus cleaner. Spray thoroughly with garden hose, dry in old toaster oven at 250F. Fit to bike and lube with dropper bottle (old...

BBS02 - motor spins in cold weather, doesn't deliver power.

Best to go in, clean and lube everything. I like tri-flow synthetic. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=how+to+disassemble+bbs02#ip=1 https://www.amazon.com/Tri-Flow-TF23004-Clear-Synthetic-Grease/dp/B000C15MUU

Re-grease the one-way (sprague) clutch in the nylon gear.

    Properly inflating tires

It's been my observation that (car and bicycle) tires lose air faster when they're being used than when sitting still. So the slower diffusion of nitrogen might be more noticeable in actual use. I commuted to work by bike for 31 years and drove the car only once or twice a week. Going on a road...

    New Schwalbe Tires

I also like a firmer tire in the back. No suspension. I have Schwalbe Marathon (NOT plus) front and back, both 40 psi, but larger size in the rear. 26x1.75 front, 26x2.0 rear. When I had 26x1.75 on both I ran 40 front, 45 rear. Here's two calculators I like...

    Aventon Level Tire Pressure

Consider size of tires, weight of bike, cargo, and rider. Here's two calculators I like: https://www.renehersecycles.com/tire-pressure-calculator/ https://cycleschinook.com/tire-pressure-calculator/

Does anyone suffer from battery range anxiety like people do with electric vehicles?

One requirement of my bike is that it be light enough (54lb currently) to carry up a flight of stairs. That, plus moderate tire size (1.75" front, 2" rear) means I can pedal it without electric assist, albeit slower. So, no anxiety. Over my 26 years of e-biking I've been left to limp home...

    Rear View Mirror for Bike

Tried a handlebar mirror many years ago. Too much vibration and steering motions. Didn't want to spend $40 on a helmet mirror I might not like, so I got one of the link below for $14. The velcro doesn't hold as firmly as I'd like, so zip ties and/or Gorilla Glue to the rescue...

    E-bikes that don't need a battery

At best, supercaps hold about 1/10th the energy per unit weight compared to lithium-ion. So if you're okay with a 5 mile range supercap setup instead of 50 miles with an equal battery weight, have at it. You'll also need a DC-DC converter between the caps and motor controller for a...
