Wow, last time this happened it was about 2 weeks to get the part from Specialized, and that was pre-pandemic.

Mines the opposite, it’s fine if the motor is off, if it’s on it makes grinding/slipping kind of sound. It sounds like either a bad bearing or a worn belt. It only happens when under load, so if I put the bike on a rack and pedal with the wheels off the ground it makes the sound for a moment...

Sigh, it’s not the motor problem…

I’m glad to find this thread. I upgraded my 2018 Vado 3.0 to the Marathon Plus after struggling through way to many flats. They always seemed less grippy but I thought it was my imagination. After my 2018 Vado 3.0 died of a cracked frame, my LBS moved the Marathon Pluses to the replacement 2020...

Got it back yesterday and made my first commute to work today - 11 miles each way and it was 16°F this morning. I have to say, the 2020 Vado 4.0 is way nicer than the 2018 Vado 3.0. I can feel the torque difference, the new 4.0 takes a little longer to get up to full speed, but it cruises so...

Sigh, picked up my new Vado 4.0 today and didn’t try it out at the store, got home to find that the motor kicks out at 16mph! Brought it back, but too late in the day to deal with it. Hopefully tomorrow …

LBS went to bat for me, I’m getting a new 2020 Vado 4.0. Should have it by this weekend.

I’ve got a 2018 Vado 3.0 that developed a wobble in the crank. I dropped it off at the LBS last night and it’s a cracked motor casing. Sucks to have to deal with this, but it least it sounds like everyone has gotten a good resolution to the problem.

Anyone in the US been able to get this done? According to my LBS, Specialized says this is a UK thing.
