Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I've got 6500 miles on my 2022 Vado brakes and have not changed the fluid just the pads (every 1000 miles). I have noticed no degradation whatsoever.

    Vado 4.0 battery

I wish I was close enough to drive and buy it from you. I know that shipping lithium batteries for a regular consumer is going to next to impossible and/or cost prohibitive.

    Turbo Vado not switching on

Specialized gave me 50% off the parts. I am out of warranty so I do appreciate it. My first ride is tonight and it's 14 degrees fahrenheit (wind chill 5) so we'll see how it holds up .

    Turbo Vado not switching on

Ok the plot thickens, lol. Seriously I just wanted to pass this info along. My 2022 Vado 4.0 that I bought in March of 2022 (so very early) mastermind definitely does not have a battery in it as per the LBS mechanic (who I trust) but the "newer" mastermind does have a (non replaceable)...

    Turbo Vado not switching on

I found the part number for the Mastermind. S216800041 ELE TCD-W 2, WIRED DISPLAY WITH REMOTE MasterMind TCD-w And yes it does have a battery that can be recharged via the usb-c port. I wish I would have known this before taking it to the LBS. That makes sense I can see how it could be...

    Turbo Vado not switching on

My thought too. I mean is seems to me that if the mastermind had a replaceable battery it just needs to be replaced? The wording in the docs doesn't explicitly say it doesn't have a battery... it refers only to not having a "replaceable" battery. We'll see. I would lobve to have an excuse to...

    Turbo Vado not switching on

After 6300 flawless miles my 2022 Vado 4.0 won't turn on. I live in Cleveland Ohio and have ridden it virtually everyday and throughout the last 3 winters. The battery has 140 cycles and 100% health. I never charged it in the cold and always took it out of the bike to charge inside during the...

    vado 3/4/5 rack capacity

It will easily hold 60 pounds. I've had the rear rack loaded down with two bundles of firewood (one in each cool cave pannier) and another bundle in a basket attached at the top via mik adapter. The weight was no problem for the rack/fender itself.

    Firmware update for charging limit

I always charged to 100% anyway but since I got my Vado firmware updated I see 80% available so I am just testing it out. Oh for the record I did toggle it off rode a few miles and toggled it back on, shut off the bike and charged it. It stopped at 80%.

    Firmware update for charging limit

Yup, the workaround works. I could care less about the shortcomings of Specialized. I've been working with Unix and high-level language development since 1985. Business people never listen to reason.

    Firmware update for charging limit

It just happened to me again. I’ll post if it doesn’t work again.

Finding the Tero Adventure Plate Front Rack to Buy

I hope you find one. I have one on my Vado and it is extremely useful plus it puts the headlight in a much better position to illuminate the road.

    Firmware update for charging limit

Crazy I just got it working again. I turned off the 80% toggle and saved it as a profile. Then I loaded the default profile back and charged to 100% rode until the battery was at 40% and then before charging I loaded the previous profile and turned on the 80% limit again. It worked.

    Firmware update for charging limit

This has happened to me. It charged to 80% maybe 9 times... then 100% and I went out and ride until it was about 4%. Since then it charges to 100% every single time no matter how many times I change the 80% toggle on and off. I hope it starts eventually working again because it was a great feature.
