The transition

What relations ?
:)
When your best friend suddenly declares you its enemy, you look for new friends ...
It will change in 2.5 years. Problem is, it will take twice that long to undo the damage. I pity the next guy who has to deal with the mess.

Assuming they have not fully taken control of the election process so they can stay in power indefinitely (Competitive Authoritarianism, Turkey style on its way to Russian style).

We will know in 8 weeks if that is the case :)

I am doubtful that such an outcome would be at all stable. The federal government does not have sufficient forces available to it to control the population unless that population wants to be controlled. And you might notice that some of those forces are a bit busy in the moment and that situation isn't going at all well.

The thing such as the fuel price or the tariffs or the inflation or waging wars or ICE agents in the streets or the aviation issues (ATC crisis) certainly come from the federal government actions. Correct me if I'm wrong but the negative phenomena affecting Americans right now have been all created by the current federal government?

That would require changing the current 2 term limit, which needs a two thirds congressional approval. Not likely to happed under current conditions.

January the sixth. It was close.
Now, the country leader is not asking the Congress permission for anything.
"Special Military Operation in Iran. Not a war", anyone?

I love your candor :)
If you study how authoritarian states got to that point you will notice a 100% similarity to the steps that have been taken so far.
In a competitive Authoritarianism state, you have an arguable appearance of democracy, but the guarantee of the outcome, and if you look at all the countries around the world that ended under such regime, they have proven to be almost impossible to change once in place.

I am not talking about a dictature, but competitive authoritarianism, where the appearance of a democratic process is there, but there are enough controls and manipulations that you can guarantee the outcome.
Most of the steps have already been taken, a few have not, but there are ways to compensate for them, especially when you have control of most of the judicial process (which they now basically have).
We shall see in 8 weeks, fingers crossed :)

If you look at it from ten kilometers up you might perceive that. But when you look at most local government situations around the Untied States they are seriously messed up and often corrupt as well.

The overall problem is that a government that appeared to be enlightened by 18th and 19th century standards and worked well enough in most of the 20th century might be dangerously obsolete in the 21st.

The problem with that, as I see it, is that the best recent historical examples you can give (Russia and Turkey) the federal government started out with a lot more power and force available to it (in proportion to the size of the country) than the United States has even today. And then there are more subtle things like regional governors in Russia being appointed by the central government and not elected by the populations of the State like they do here.

And the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (basically a militarized National Police Force) has about 900,000 people on the job. There is no equivalent in the United States, a country with three times the population. If you total up all of the US Federal Law enforcement officers in the country you get about 135,000 of them.

Too many streets, not enough tanks.

I won't even do into the geographic differences that make forcible central control of the United States even harder. I'm not saying it is impossible, but you'd have to have not only a clue but a lot of clues. Do you think the people in Washington DC have those clues?

The people around T like project 2025 have all the necessary clues, they have been preparing for 4 years before the last election, they know exactly what they are doing, which is why they were able to move as fast as they did, and their goal of authoritarianism is very clear.
When you see how much they have been able to implement basically unopposed; how they can get stuff pass legal, and when it does not pass, how they are able to simply ignore the tribunal decisions; how much control they have gained of the major social media and media outlet; The building of a private army (ICE) they can deploy as they wish; even going as far as Buying the company making the voting machines, and the list goes on....

And how little American have proven to be able to take to the streets....

I am far less optimistic than you are, but I sure hope you are right :)

Even with your perception that this all is a "negative phenomena" still no place better to live, and for those witout TDS, thrive.

Yes, I can see the same from the Flight Level 350 and the distance of 4,000 nautical miles.

I can name many better places to live, for instance my home country. Starting with the safety level through the quality of roads to general cleanliness.

Its not what happens, its what gets highlighted and what gets left out and the ability to gaslight people who are happy to be misinformed.

Interesting but obviously biased and out of contexted video that practically exactly mirrors our experience with HS2.
The Californian high speed railway actually eclipses ours for complete backhander corruption.

The bill is now 230billion to finish it.
