Specialized drop prices in North America for Levo range. Permanent drop due to competitive market.

Yes, both nationally and internationally. There's a UCI Grand Tour road race going on right now, the Giro D'Italia in Italy. Before the start of every stage, they start a stage of the E-Giro, an e-bike road race. They will race a similar course. E-MTB racing is also a thing. E-MTB's race in their own class. Some races have two E-MTB classes, Open (<=750W) and Unlimited (>750W). Gravel races are starting to add e-bike fields as well.

Since this is a thread about Spec dropping prices, I recently saw SL2 5.0 on sale for $1600 less on the USA website, 4.0 were $800 off IIRC. I mentioned this to the store owner when I dropped off my new 5.0 today, he was miffed that he had to eat the discount on inventory he bought before the price cut. I don’t blame him.

The price cut and an excellent trade-in offer is how I bought mine. The out of pocket price was less than I’d paid for my SL1 model 4EQ in 2020. Oh, and I love the new bike.

Specialized will do something for the dealers. They won't eat all of that.

No price drop on Specialized in Europe. I wonder why.

The least expensive Vado SL 2 is around US$4,000. What did you pay for yours, Barry?

I have been in as many as 7 e-bike gravel races since May 2024. A single organiser allows the format an he has got a Bosch E-Bike sponsorship. Recently, all these races are being won by strong people riding gravel e-bikes with a small battery, and they indeed manage the ride on a single battery. The format started with 50 milers, now it is 100 km. An e-biker riding a Specialized Creo 1 took the 2nd place on the latest race ridden in a hard terrain and during a heatwave. The winner rode an older Canyon Grizl:ON.

Specialized has MAP pricing. No one can advertise a price below it. Ahh, but the corporate stores then give away hundreds in stuff as an incentive to use them and also have priority on what is hot. They are eating their own children, the independent dealers. And selling DTC.

In the US, most gravel races, with and without an e-bike field, are unsanctioned. Dirty Kanza, Belgian Waffle, Unbound, Overland, and most of the rest, are unsanctioned.
