Mahle X30 with e185 Range Extender sudden issue

My bike’s internal battery works normally and charges normally. The MySmartBike app shows only the internal battery.
I have tested TWO fully charged e185 Range Extender batteries. Both wake up (white/green light), stay on about 20 seconds, then shut down. Neither battery appears in the app.
I inspected and cleaned all contacts. Internal battery charges fine through the bike socket.
The only common component between both Range Extenders is the detachable RA2 connector cable.
Has anyone had a failed Range Extender cable cause the battery to be completely invisible to the system?
Could a system update have happened and the Range Extender port was overlooked?

Hmmmm. What happens when you plug the batteries in to charge? I never us my RE but if i recall the charger communicates with it?

Batteries charge normally when plugged in. RE is not being recognized and turns off it’s also not recognized in the MySmartBike app.
