The transition

What they really want is registration, complete and absolute control is the only goal.
We are so far down Orwell and Huxleys road that they are using AI to write the sequels.

I would dearly love to ditch the car and use a bike, but it isn't going to dictate where I choose to live.

6% of our electricity, I presume thats all types of data centres, but it was only 2.5% last year.
Sam claims its energy well spent, the absolutist in me would agree if I remove respect for humanity as we know it.

I had a conversation with my banking app today about google pay.

it really depends on your priorities! everyone is looking for a slightly different mix of things. personally, i wouldn’t live anywhere that required frequent use of a private car. but luckily most places i’m drawn to don’t fit in that category.

Yeah, well I'm happy with both, and I'm certainly not going to deplete my bank account and bend myself into a pretzel just because some politicians and multi-billionaires are laying a guilt trip on the middle-class over burning gasoline. It's all hypocrisy and green washing to me anyway. Who doesn't buy products shipped halfway around the world on oil fired ships? Who doesn't buy bags full of highly processed food grown using fossil fuels? Go out an buy an expensive electric car, one that's a throwaway in 10 years and is made by burning vast amounts of oil and coal? Dear oh dear, I'm not that much an enemy of the planet.
