Turbo Vado 3

Which model has the headlight on the fork crown, the first picture?
The 4.0 comes with a regular Lezyne headlight, and normal looking handlebar.
The 5.0 has the light integrated in the front of the 1 piece stem/handlebar.
The 6.0 comes with the front rack and headlight mounted on the rack.

The 4.0 is about 5 lbs lighter than the 6.0. I guess the front rack, dropper post, and cafe lock account for most of that 5 pound difference.

Makes them look expensive.
Brembo makes bicycle brakes now! I don't think these are Brembos though.

The stem is still custom :( It holds the big colour display. The proprietary stem here would be a no-go for me.

It is no replacement for my Vado 6.0 in any way. If I wanted to still upgrade my trusty Roadrunner, I would upgrade it to the electronic Wheeltop derailleur. My brother says: "You need one e-bike that would always work!", so no, no changes :)

Toldya :D I need no comfort. I need sport!

Looks like the EVO 4 and 5 has a smaller chainring (40t). I wonder if they are limited to 20MPH just because it looks like you would spin out before getting to 28mph (40tx11t).

Hmmm maybe not... I wouldn't want to be pushing 100 cadence going 28mph though.

The proprietary stem is also a dealbreaker for me.

What, does Spesh think that we all need the same stem length and extension, and this is the best we can do?

Seems like a giant step backwards. Don't build fancy displays into components and then make them proprietary. You lose a significant share of the market that way.

I agree. I am sucker for getting the latest and greatest bike upgrade but there is nothing about the EVO other than the increased battery capacity that I think is an improvement.

I sometimes make jokes with my gf @Brix: 'What if I bought an e-bike for you?' I showed a Vado 3 photo to her. 'A brutal design, isn't it' she said. She didn't like the Vado SL 2 design, either, while she loved the looks of Vado SL 1!

That happens when a company is run by accountants.

It's got a "dropper" post, but according to their web site its purpose is so you can lower it when stopped so you can sit on the seat with both feet flat on the ground. Then, when you start pedaling and get up to speed, raise it to the ideal position. They might as well advertise it as being for the "novice rider". I'd like one for swinging my leg over when mounting but that's about it. Of course, this bike is obviously not for me in a number of ways.

This bias goes back to my motorcycling days when I'd see Harleys with low-slung seats and riders with both feet on the ground. Then, when the light turned green, they'd drag their feet halfway across the intersection before feeling comfortable enough to pick them up. I was always able to pick my foot up as soon as I engaged the clutch.
