Before proceeding, I'll have to see if ADT can add a garage detector to our existing alarm system at reasonable cost.

Certain we could hear a cheap Home Depot detector in the garage from any downstairs location. Probably from upstairs bedrooms, too, but would have to test to see if loudly enough to wake us.

i use ring and have a ring camera in the garage, with motion alerts turned on. the $50-60 kidde smoke and CO alarms send alerts via ring, so either attempted theft or fire will result in lots of alarms going off. our building also has a hardwired fire alarm system that notifies the fire department, but that’s unusual.

That is so true. Remember the Boston Marathon bomber from about a dozen years ago? He used a little pressure cooker to make it explode. Imagine what would happen with a safe.
Oh, this is weird, they said they wanted that terrorist captured alive. When he was hiding in that boat and it was a cold night they had infrared scopes on 50 caliber rifles to shoot through the hull. Those shots penetrated the cinder block wall to the business park behind that home and went through a bunch more walls in the business park. I had one come in three or four years ago for assembly, a Walmart junker. The dropouts didn't fit. It had a loose battery in a sack on the handlebar. And no BMS. You had to put it on a timer or it would catch fire. It was for an obese kid, so I locked out the throttle with a set screw. The mom later removed it to make him happy. Then she got him a POS Happy Run. The happy runs only come with food poisoning. They are totally illegal and are also fall apart DTC junk. They have some plasti-chrome parts that do not do a thing but look, cool, to some, false parts, do not do anything except for a photo shoot.

For happy runs just let curry sit out for 17 days you will get them for free. Note: there is no way to adjust the inside of the rear brake! A person with no arms and no legs wanted to be effed. She was thrown into a pool. Buy this and you are in the same situation. Effect-up, big time. It has a licence plate holder but can never go on a highway, or in a bike lane. I used to repair gas boilers, they are packed with safety features, its amazing they run at all.
They used to be semi mechanical, now its all cct board controlled.
If the fan doesnt start or if it draws too much current indicating a blockage it wont fire up, if the gas doesnt ignite the cct detects it by electrical failure of voltage passing through a flame, which is also acts as a diode so a short would fail as well preventing gas valve open.
The fan also detects too much flow indicating possible physical damage to boiler construction.
If the gas valve jams open they are designed to enable all the heat or unburnt gss to escape from the flue, if the fan isnt running the flame will be starved and be contained.

Quality Ebike batteries have voltage balancers, heat detection, solid construction and some have individual battery thermal lockouts.

But theres nothing to stop thermal runaway if it starts, there is no physical protection, no cutoff of power, no inherent construction to contain a runaway situation.
Gas cars dont either, but very few people park them in their homes.

We will look back in decades to come and there will be li- ion batteries in museums with people shaking their heads at them parked in hallways.
